I think I am up to speed now having caught up with the moderator and kubika posts.
Very disappointing and the forum is worse off for losing the people that have gone. It is a shame the way things seem to be heading. It may be me but it feels like people can be just a bit too sensitive at times. That said practically nothing offends me so with my moral compass maybe I am not the best person to judge!

That's a shame always thought Richard to be a nice guy.

Yes I believe you are right but this was the final straw, I reckon.

Indeed and it's also a shame that we no longer have tyke or reggie. Colourful characters certainly and although might say the wrong thing sometimes it is unfortunate we won't have further contributions from them.

The recent losses are, indeed, a detriment to us all but some things can't be glossed over just because someone is "colourful".

Tyke's exile is self imposed, whereas Reggie must have overstepped things behind the scenes, to get an actual ban? There's "saying the wrong thing" and "putting your foot in it" and then there's persistently going after an individual you've taken a dislike to?

Again, I agree with you, we've lost some good contributors!
Steve.

We have many great members left though, it's still a great forum and it is a shame something we all take a lot of pleasure in has resulted in this sort of thing happening.
it's a watch forum a place for us to log on , chill and enjoy a chat or two, should never even get close to being too controversial or argumentative.

There's a lot of bullying on forums in general, it's really a shame. People say things on the internet they would never dare say to somebodies face.

Forums only have so much of a life before all the interesting people leave from the abuse.

I agree pretty much with this.

It's a pity we have lost Tyke, Reggie747 and Richard D. I enjoyed the sometimes edgy & entertaining comments from some of the departed members which I think is fine on the forum to have a bit of disagreement & debate although obviously when things overstep the mark and become personal then it's gone too far. I enjoyed Richard's posts too and I hope he, and the others too perhaps, can return in time.

Back to the watches...

Pity as Richard D was a good contributor to the Forum. His posts were informative and insightful.

It is a shame they have left. But I'll admit I seem to have a different understanding of 'abuse' and 'bullying' to some people.

Caveat - I didn't read the posts from yesterday evening.

What the hell is going on round here?? Firstly Chris (DISJT) has a totally inoffensive YouTube link removed and arguments overs that, then Tyke makes a harmless joke which some take offence to and he removes himself from here, and now Reggie is banned and Richard has gone? All good posters here. The forum has become quiet enough as it is without moderating the place to the point where no one wants to bother in case someone’s sisters aunts kids goldfish somewhere in the world may be offended by it so it gets removed. Come on, lets use a bit of common sense here before the forum dies a death

Richard and tyke have left before (once maybe twice?) Deleted a load of stuff and come back, its who they are it seems?

2 other members kicked out.....for who really knows what? Over sensitivity?

Basically you cant speak your mind here.

Here lies the future........ "nice watch" "i agree nice watch" etc etc
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Richard D:

As Berkshire Critic he left on September 6th 2013.

"It's with regret that I say goodbye"

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21123

He rejoined a few weeks later before, now as Berkshire, leaving us again in January 2015.

He rejoined on March 25th 2018 as Richard D before leaving us for the last time 2 days ago.

I understand from several friends who are on the CWE Facebook site that he has made it clear that he will not be coming back to the Forum.

My old friend Tyke has often gone walk about before, sometimes for up to a year.

Personally I hope that he will come back as I miss his humour and wit.
