I would agree this should be in 18k gold not bronze but RRP should be under £5k (on strap) not crazy Swiss pricing. Of course a bracelet changes the game dramatically.

£9000.

You're not shooting high enough, if you're going to spout, I'd say you're at least 5 grand out....

I agree it would look better if it were gold rather than bronze.

But whether £9k or £14k is to a great degree irrelevant - I would not contemplate for a second paying that sort of money for a CW.

I agree Bob, wholeheartedly. I was merely highlighting the waffle from Richard who I'm fairly sure would not have been tempted at all

On the other hand you could probably source an unworn RG FF for £20k, or preowned at £15k.

There in lies the problem for CW if they launched a gold (not plated) watch who would buy it?

A collector with deep pockets looking for a gold dive watch, or something equally robust, could get the above, or something similar from another top brand.

They probably didn’t get to a position of having deep pockets by frittering money on a niche brand like CW, where the model would be a LE, likely available with only a small discount, but would drop like a dead falcon if you tried to move it on.

Using another example of someone who really wants a RG watch, as their best watch for high days (not holidays, given the seeming reluctance by most to take decent watches on holiday), to top off a collection including say Rolex, Omega etc, as well as their CWs, is hardly going to go the CW route, rather than pushing for a PP, albeit in dress style.

Keeping the small second style, Calatrava 5196R at £16,850 pre discount. Or similar quality, also full in-house, from a niche brand, a Moser Endeavour small second, at £11,500 pre discount and could probably be picked up for about £7k in a private sale.

Sir, you don’t know me at all or by what I would be tempted by. So please do not judge me. Thanking you. :D

PMs please, gentlemen, if you wish to have a discussion of a personal nature. Thank you for your co-operation.

Mine arrive today, even though it was clearly marked with the value on the box it came sailing through with no taxes or duties owing.

Congratulations. It will be very interesting to see how it looks once the patina starts to kick in.

Yes, that will be interesting. I bought a C60 Trident Bronze Pro 600 earlier in the year in bronze and took it to Hawaii for 10 days. It spent a lot of time in the water, THAT accelerated the patina development!

I won't be taking this one swimming.
