To be honest, I have never had a bad experience with CW's cs. Always top notch.

That is how customer service should be, and that has made you one happy bunny. Service like that makes you feel special and an important customer. I too have a hankering for the Tudor, and patience is a virtue, but the CW will do everything that a Tudor would do !
One lesson is not to use the sorting office, other than as a pick up.

Yep, with CW it's always been a better experience than at any local watchshop.

The "battered one" wont be appearing in sales corner or ebay i'm afraid. Both watches will be retained by me. One on leather as a less pampered watch and one on bracelet for a bit of bling.

To sell either and try and profit from CW's goodwill would feel disingenuous to me.

I will however make a donation to the hospice myself. (This was already in mind. I'm not sure calling for someone to make a charitable donation on a public forum is particularly good etiquette though)
Hi Chris, can you sell me that battered one please? I also really love the “old logo” as well as vintage look of that old one but I can not find your version anywhere else :( so lucky you find an old logo red bezel from official Cw website with such top-notch customer service!

I agree with the customer service provided by Katie Howard - she is an absolute diamond. Doing a great job at CW Towers.
