My first CW! - C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
My first CW! - C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
Had the great pleasure of visiting the showroom in Maidenhead to buy my first Christopher Ward watch.
Really nice to see the entire CW range "in the flesh"!
I was set for a dress watch, but was on the fence which one to chose. After getting a closer look at them and trying them on with different strap options, I decided on the C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve. Milanese Mesh bracelet. The brown Cordovan Leather strap looked great as well, so I added that one so I can switch depending on my mood
I could leave the showroom with the watch, the box (too large to fit in my suitcase) was shipped to my home free of charge. Thanks to showroom manager Declan Strange for excellent service and a great shopping experience!
I was amazed how well it's sitting on the wrist. It's relatively thick (12.8 mm), but the clever design of the case and the lugs makes it look thinner on the wrist.
Milanese bracelet is very comfortable to wear, it will definately be the default option. The leather strap looks great as well. It's amazing how different the watch looks with the Milanese vs. the leather strap. The possibility to switch between them gives you two very different watches, suitable for all occasions.
The finish and craftmanship is exquisite, the movement is a beauty!
After two weeks of daily use, I have recorded an accuracy within a second per day. Quite impressive!

Good choice, the Milanese Bracelet is very classy, first on many I suspect.

What a fantastic first CW watch!
They really do look incredible although I've not seen one in real life. Need to fix that.
Congrats on your first! What's next?

Congratulations on an excellent purchase and great to hear that your C1 is performing so well.
I find that there is something always very satisfying and comforting, in selecting one's purchase with a 'hands on' choice.

Great looking! Did you see the Malvern C5 auto collection?

Excellent photos of a lovely watch. Thank you also for posting in the Reference Gallery.

Thank you!FloridaPhil wrote: Congrats on your first! What's next?
The next one might be a C8 Power Reserve Chronometer in steel... It's a watch I didn't even notice while browsing the website, but seeing it in real life (and trying it on) really sold me. A beautiful watch!
I do however have a pilot watch already which I'm very happy with (Stowa Flieger Klassik 40), so it will have to wait... but maybe someday...
The Malvern C5 was one of my options, so I had a good look at them! Looked very nice, if the C1's didn't exist I might have ended up with a C5...fishman wrote:Great looking! Did you see the Malvern C5 auto collection?
Slightly smaller and thinner than the C1 watches, looks very elegant on the wrist.

Lovely choice! I think it looks great on both leather and the mesh and it is always nice having the choice.

Sounds like you had a great time selecting your watch in person. Great choice, looks fantastic.

it's a beautiful watch - and it looks like mesh was made specially for it - enjoy!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment
