The Seamaster moniker covers a very wide range of models. Perhaps being more specific would be helpful.

Seamaster, but I am biased!
Buy used with caution and you shouldn't lose money on it.
Vintage Omega, Seamaster AT, Seamaster Pro 300, Speedmaster Racing, Speedmaster Moonwatch, Scuro diver, Bering solar, 3x homemade bronze jobbies.C60 bronze, Victorinox INOX.

Seamaster every day of the week, twice on weekends, and with a grating of Seamaster just to finish it off.

Sort of like asking pre-owned Porsche or brand new Audi.

Although, what price a Titanium Seamaster? Bet its significantly more than a CWL. Need to compare like with like.

A new CWL will have a five year warranty. Pre-owned Seamaster? Out of warranty and, perhaps due a service, the cost of which could be half the cost of a new CWL C60 Ti.

Ultimately, pays your money and takes your choice.

I would probably say Seamaster as I have owned a few over the years & still have the chrono version, but it would have to be an auto model in near perfect condition with box & papers.
Rolex Submariner date.
Omega Speedmaster Professional.
Tudor Pepsi GMT.
Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500m Auto
Seiko Kinetic Diver
C60 Trident Vintage.

With a little careful shopping you should be able to find a Seamaster with a relatively recent service. If it does need service, you don't need to pay Omega prices to service it. A non Co-Axial can be serviced very inexpensively. My ex-Rolex watchmaker serviced my Caliber 1120 (ETA 2892 derived) for less than a 100 quid for movement service only.
I love my C60, but I'd sell it every time over the Seamaster Pro.

Good points. Caveat emptor most certainly applies but I'd go Seamaster first then Trident.

It's not a fair fight an Icon against a pretender with a logo in the wrong place. No contest Seamaster gets my vote.

The logo thing is overdone. I bought a Trident first and then jumped to a Speedy. If I do well next year maybe I'll buy a Seamaster too. In the meantime my C8 UTC will have to keep the Speedy company.

This +1. Get a used or Nearly New(!) Trident, or wait for the next 50% sale, and use the cash saved to buy something else.
