... and a new WIS is in the making!

Post by peterh »

(WIS = Watch Idiot Savant, a term used on US watch forums to indicate watch nuts)

When our grandson was still very young (4 months or thereabouts), he expressed great interest in our old wall clock, a handwound wood clock. In fact, 'klok', (the Dutch word for "clock") was one of the first things he could say.

He's now just over two... and it's starting to occur to me that everytime I wear a watch that he hasn't consciouslyt seen yet, he inspects it closely. Yesterday, I was wearing the Celebration Watch (a C5 GKK that you won't find in CW's catalog), and he was all over it (which, of course, included fingerprints).

I think I'll have to order a Peregrine Red LE and have his name and his birth date engraved in it, so that he has something to inherit, or get at his 16th birthday or something.

What a great idea, in 16 years time the Peregrine LE could be a classic so a doubly good birthday present/inheritence.
Joy to all watch lovers. :D
