C60 Trident Chronograph alternative straps / Nato's

Post by ataripower » Sat Jul 22, 2017 4:53 pm

I took delivery of my new C60 Trident Chronograph this week and am delighted with it. I'm keen to try some different straps on it and was hoping some of you good people might be able to share some ideas and ideally some pictures of this model on straps other than the bracelet or blue rubber.

Gratuitous picture

I regularly change the strap on my 38mm Trident Pro600, but only really ever for a leather strap - I find the watch is too tall and heavy to be securely supported by the NATO straps I own. Since your watch is even heavier and taller I would be surprised to see many choosing to try a NATO, even with its wider lug width.

Just my guess,

J

PS: really, really beautiful watch. I adore the colour combo, I just wish they did them under 40mm...

Okay, I bought mine on bracelet but because my C60 COSC is de-braceletted and running on various watchgecko natos my C60 Chrono is wearing that bracelet in order to preserve the stock Chrono bracelet from desk diving marks.

Other straps yet? Well I'm not a latex/rubber fan so I'll be digging out various Sandra Visser custom leather straps to see what works and possibly a webbing nato but I'm inclined to agree with JimboJames about the overall height of the case on a leather nato. Actually I'd like an exhibition back for those voyeuristic urges.
I've had a go with most CW models in the true spirit of online buying - get it, try it, keep it or flip it!

I put a beige leather strap on my Trident (green bezel) Image and it looks terrific. I'm going to take some pics and host them so I can show it off here!

Now I have uploaded some pics to which I can link, here is the Trident on the lighter leather strap.

Now that looks amazing. Do you have anymore photos of this strap on the watch please?

Got to say I have so far found the Chrono a bit of a pig to match with anything but the bracelet, Not a huge fan of rubber so had a play with a few nato's I had laying around today.

Trouble with using NATOs with the Trident Chrono is that the watch is tall and heavy, with the NATOs being thin and floppy; such that the watch does not feel secure unless the strap is tight (which I don't like).

The GasGasBones strap works really well in that there is only one layer of strap under the watch, so not too tall.

The lug fittings hold it firmly and the strap is 25mm wide, which spreads the load on the wrist better than a 22mm strap.

Finally, with the velcro adjustment, you can always get the length 'just right'.

@simmo - of those you've tried, I think the black/grey Bond ZULU looks best.
