Single Hand watches

Post by EddieTheBeast »

Somehow, single hand watches have come onto my radar  I think they are a great idea and surely a more simple time analogy

Check out this link about single hand watches, with some good examples

What do forum members think of single hand watches?

Have any forum members got one or more in their collection? If so photo's please.

not for me as it just takes a little too long to tell the time.

My only single hand is the CW Jumping Hour MkII, which I love.

Always attracts favourable comments.

Surely it's simplicity and only one hand to look at makes it quicker!

Is it because you are used to looking at more hands?

Is a JH the same thing as a single hand? :?

On a JH the hand is a minute hand as opposed to an hour hand on the single hand.

i'm wearing my luch single hander as we speak, and i love wearing it and reading the time from it!
i find single handers easy to read once you get your eye in (which doesn't take long).

check out this thread - started by AVO - on ish-time:

my favourite of the twelve in the article quoted is the beautiful Schauer - but this is well beyond my means.
i'd recommend anyone thinking of a single hander to buy a luch first, and see if you gel with the other means of time-telling before buying anything more expensive.

Some really good information and thanks for the useful CW Forum link. The Luch looks a good watch for the price, but 38mm is a bit too small for me.

Too approximate for my purposes. About like strapping a sundial to your wrist, with the main difference being that it still runs in the shade. On the other hand, you rarely need to check to see if the sundial is still running.
