Got offered £250 for my C65 Trident LE

Post by Coggy » Tue Jul 26, 2016 10:18 pm

Clearly not as popular or in demand as some suggest.

Paid £426 after Fathers Day Discount with standard black strap. Am selling with brand new Brown Bader that I paid £69 for at £445 and no interest.

Is also on Ebay at £495 as they will charge me 10% selling fee.

There is another brand new in box that has never been worn for £550 that still hasn't sold.

Send it back, might be the only way to recoup your total outlay.

That's a shame, in which case persevere, it's a great looking watch so it might go soon. Could always ask for offers to see if anyone bites?

Stuff that, worth much more. Just wait it out, someone will bag it. I'd have been tempted if it wasn't a CW!

Hold on to it and wait for the fast re-sellers to clear out. As a very limited edition, my thought is that it will either hold or slightly increase in value. Depends on how much you need the money to move on I suppose.

Agreed. This watch is worth it. Sometimes these things take a bit of time.

You may want to consider shipping outside the UK as well. Shipping to Western/Northern Europe and North America will give you much better exposure. Especially the USA because the exchange rate between the pound and dollar is so low right now.

But... I paid £365.46 for mine new (15% discount + no VAT) so £495 may be a tough sell.

I always get dreadfully low offers when I've listed on eBay.
Hold out as someone will always offer you more. You may have to re-list it a couple of times but the right buyer will come.

You can set the EBay listing to automatically reject offers below a certain amount and only forward offers worthy of your attention. It's always a risk but an auction format might yield a better return...

Cheers all. Paid £426 after 15% discount and then added brand new brown baden strap that I had already bought to go with my C60. So £500 invested. Have reduced to £445 on here but have gone for £495 on ebay due to fees etc.

I'm in no rush to sell just amazed at an offer of £250 (via ebay message) from someone claiming to be a CW enthusiast and collector.

I have set offers to be rejected well above the £250 offered which is why he sent me a private message.

Let's sit and wait.

You have my sympathy - I can't sell my mint C8 Flyer even at half price! CW resale values very soft - but might pick up once all the old logo watches are sold off! :-?

As others have said, sit it out. I've had some ridiculously low-ball offers on all sorts of items on eBay but the right buyer with the right offer has usually come along in the end. It just takes patience.
I am not a collector of watches. I used to be able to say that and know I was telling the truth.
