Okay, I love it!!!

Post by marky123 »

After reading the Mike France's interview in WatchPro magazine and then thinking about it for a while, I'm in totally love with the Vintage mode in 38mm. Yeah.. 43mm model is really big, should have been 41 instead(and make other one as 37mm).

Reminds me of Tudor Black Bay 36 and perfect alternative for it at lower price range in the sense of " falling into the category of masculine watches in the 36-38mm size" (would have prefered C65 Vintage to be 37 actually). They are far and few with very limited text on the dial and cleaner looking Swiss Automatics in that size and yet looking masculine!

Apart from the fact that they are both watches with black dials, I'm struggling to see the similarity.

Can you expand a bit on the likeness?

PS I'm honestly not taking the mickey.

There is much I like about the new vintage. Sadly, there is far more that I don't like. I'm starting to feel that CW are aiming their latest designs at a market far different than that of us here on the forum.
Ultimately, they need volume and margin to stay alive. If this keeps their business going who are we to question. We don't have to buy the products and have more traditional offerings widely available. Rolex of the Internet maybe not, high end Michael Koors maybe...

People don't get the point easily here. Am not talking that its direct resembles Tudor BB 36 but more like.." falling into the category of masculine watches in the 36-38mm size" (would have prefered C65 Vintage to be 37 actually). They are far and few with very limited text on the dial and cleaner looking Swiss Automatics in that size and yet looking masculine!

To be fair Mark, the point didn't come over very clearly.

To be honest, I still don't get it.

I half like this watch I think great size nice case and strap combination nice face, two things I don't like, because the wave pattern has gone I think they should drop the trident second hand and dont like the logo or its position also don't really feel it's s C65 MkII but more a new watch entirely

I know cw have dropped the waves from some of the new tridents as well that look smart with the smooth faces, but just feel the trident is too fancy for this plain watch(not saying plain is bad dome of my favourites are understated/clean)

I also like the cw that is normally on the crown which they also seem to have dropped

Folks may think I've lost it, but the C65 will sell very well and will become an iconic CW design. By the way, I think that the Slimline Square will become a CW classic as well.

Just a reminder gentlemen that the CW watch virtually always looks better in person than on the website. My guess is that this will be the case concerning the C65 with the hated new logo. So, who's going to be the first Forumite to buy this watch and give us a report?

C65 has already sold well and is well on the way to being a classic.

It is the mkll with the CWap logo that is the **** lovechild twixt Early Learning and Captain Birdseye. That is an abomination not a classic.
