New CW GT40 model.
New CW GT40 model.
I was musing on the next CW chronograph, and then got thinking about the upcoming recently announced GT40 watch.
So..... has anyone got any insider information or ideas on what this is going to be? (Other than motorsport themed of course! )
The SH21 is a likely candidate, and I was wondering if it may even be a chrono itself!

As far as insider info goes - Blind Rudolph.
More likely a COSC C70 with a piece of metal in the display back (as per the Ferrari LE)?
Hopefully in 'Gulf' colours.

Thats what I fear, but I am hoping for an all new design that will be the first of a new series!Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:As far as insider info goes - Blind Rudolph.

Fingers crossed
As there are only going to be 40 made, I am not convinced that it will be an all new design, but it would be nice if it was!
I agree that the Gulf colours would be fantastic!

If there are only making 40 then I think it'll be a quartz, I am afraid. With a piece of the car on display in it.smegwina wrote:Thats what I fear, but I am hoping for an all new design that will be the first of a new series!Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:As far as insider info goes - Blind Rudolph.

I would really like to see a non-quartz chrono from them asap.

New CW GT40 model.
How much.. And I know it's a homage like the Bremont... But it looks too similar to me.... And I prefer the Bremont..
The fact the Ferrari model is still not sold out speaks volumes to me

Re: New CW GT40 model.
No Gulf colours then but an interesting dial design and a better use for the GT40 metal in the back.

Re: New CW GT40 model.
Interesting!
I'm not a massive fan of the usual "here's a piece of metal from some historic thing or other" limited edition watches and the styling here isn't quite what I expected CW to do with this one, given the inspiration and the source of the insert. Like many, I guess I was expecting something that more obviously reflected the pale blue and orange of the Gulf colours.
Having said that, I rather like the design approach they have taken with the rev counter styling and the fuel gauge for the power reserve. I'm surprised though that the strap isn't something like a punched Rally-style in with black as the main outer colour, but with the blue and orange as the under layer.
It's much more understated than I was expecting and I rather like it for that.
(I still wouldn't consider spending that much for a disc of old aluminium though.)

Re: New CW GT40 model.
I want to like it, but it is just to similar to the Bremont Jaguar for my liking.

Re: New CW GT40 model.
I love it. But I can't afford it. That's that then.
Lovely watch though, again. Liking the recent CW new designs like this and the Flyer!

Agree with the similarity to the Bremont Jaguar but that's a watch that is out of my comfort zone.smegwina wrote:I want to like it, but it is just to similar to the Bremont Jaguar for my liking.
