Forum Outage

Post by welshlad »

Blimey, that was a long forum outage. About 10-11 hours in total I guess.

What happened?

And well done to all the team on getting it back up. Must have been a busy night!

Forum down? Yes and no

Post by Kip »

Apparently many of you suffered (as did I) some issues with access to the forum this morning.

The problem was a corrupted file that has now been corrected.

Many Thanks to all who let me know.

It's under investigation but it looks like the database crashed. :(

it was corruption of a specific database table - 10 seconds to fix - but these things always choose to happen when no-one is there to fix it :D - but it is good for us to get away from the computer! look it is sunny outside, best go... :D

I did wonder what was going on. I thought perhaps the viewings of, erm...alternative sites, might have sent my ipad into a tizzy. Glad to see normal service has resumed.

It was for quite a long time - more than 12 hours by my estimate. The error message also changed mid-way.

So, what did everyone do while the forum was down ?
