Development of the C60 over time
With the new C60 launching, I thought it might be interesting to some to show the development of C60 models over time. Most of you will know what I'm about to write, so I hope I don't annoy anyone by typing it!
There have been three models sold as C60s. The Kingfisher, the Trident and the new one (MkII?). Below are examples of each one. Funny enough, the latest model shares more design features with the Kingfisher than the Trident did.
Kingfisher
Trident
The New One
All together.
There have been other models too of course. The C60 Kingshires came after the C6FLE which of course came after the C6. The C600 was based on the same case, as is the C65, minus the rotating bezel. The whole family is shown below.

Super collection. You have been hiding your light under a bushel! Great to see the family tree.

Re: Development of the C60 over time
A very helpful post for anyone trying to understand the history of the C60. Thanks for putting it together.
I still can't get over how massive the C65 looks, even though it uses the same case as the others. It just goes to show how a rotating bezel can make a watch wear a lot smaller.

I've got a few more that I didn't include - I just picked out one example of each watch.smegwina wrote:Super collection. You have been hiding your light under a bushel! Great to see the family tree.
Welshlad- I was having a look at them to compare and contrast and thought it may be of interest to someone.

Very interesting indeed, I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the whole family.

Re: Development of the C60 over time
Just want to clarify when you say 600 based on same case?
Same case as what?
If by 600 you mean the new 600m trident c60 then isn't that advertised as a whole new case design.

Re: Development of the C60 over time
By C600 I meant the C600 Tri-tech Elite. It's the middle on the bottom row. All the watches use the same basic case. Right down to the position of the holes for the spring bars it would appear. The 600m Trident has a new bezel and case back, but the case is certainly the same size and shape as all the other watches posted here.

Re: Development of the C60 over time
There is one interesting variation for the C6 case. I've owned something like 6 or 7 C6 watches over the years and one of them had a different shaped case step between the lugs...Clach77 wrote:All the watches use the same basic case. The C4, C6 and early C7 models shared the same steel bracelet, but each had a slightly different shape on the end links. The cases have a "step" on the lower half that is matched by a step in the bracelet end links. The C6 case has a larger step than the C4/C7 (from memory) so the bracelets from one do not fit the other. Except....
One of my C6s had the same end links that the C4 & C7 use. The bracelet from it did not fit any of the other C6s I owned, but the brushed C4 bracelet did. It was a relatively old C6, but still a "Swiss Made" one, so not super early. I have no idea how or why this happened (speculations perhaps), but there are some differences.

Re: Development of the C60 over time
Thank you Alex for the group photo and the history.
A lot of us here know the full history but a lot of people who have only joined out late May not know it and also I find that there is starting to be some misunderstandings between the C600 and the C60 Trident 600m which needs to be made known and sorted.

Re: Development of the C60 over time
Yes, there seem to be a few references to C600 that refer to the new C60 600m... Maybe in hindsight it should've been called C60 MkII as they've done with other models? Nonetheless good job posting that so people can understand the differences...

Re: Development of the C60 over time
Very interesting to see the changes over time, thanks.
Can you see or 'feel' a step up in quality as the range has developed & matured?

Yeah, I own a Timex...... deal with it!
Re: Development of the C60 over time
Great post! Fascinating to see the differences and development in both CWs mindset and in the watch design
