What size is your wrist size?

On the Chat, Chris was asking if we could make some suggestions regarding strap sizes. Doing a bit of research, I have found that the strap companies each tend to offer different overall lengths as standard, short etc.

Perhaps if we can put together a sampling of wrist sizes it might help him out with his OEM strap maker.

Simply measure your wrist and vote for your wrist size. If your size is not listed, just vote for the closest one.

Thanks Kip, saw this in the chat and thought is was a good idea as every CW I've had to add holes to as they were too long.

Kip, great idea, but can I ask why you went for such uneven categories? This will make it more difficult to get an accurate view of the distribution of wrist sizes. Indeed, the initial view of the data may be quite misleading as there are some categories 1.25" wide and some just 0.25" wide, so everything else being equal the former will capture 5 times as many people as the latter, even if the underlying distribution was uniform.

Sorry, I may just be being a stats geek here! If so, just ignore me!

I put the ranges together based on the info I was able to dig up. These ranges seem to cover the majority of popular sizes used by the strap companies.

Am I right in thinking that wristwatches have been around for sometime and we still have not cracked strap sizes. :problem:

Great idea, but: don't let me be the only one with 6.5 inch, please... Hello, is there anybody out there?

I also think that they would have to publish the lug to lug measurement for each watch on the website so as to enable clients to decide which strap size to go for.

Andreas

PS: Why don't we have a look at Nomos. They offer 4 different sizes XS-L (I have to admit that I take size S, also for watches with 35mm).

6.5" here too but I voted for the lower range as I seem to be a couple mm short in the winter months.

Here's a link to my previous poll regarding wrist size too:

I did look yours up Jeff, but decided to define the sizes that were closer to what strap companies use. I thought this would make it easier for Chris to define. Also, this way we will actaually have both to compare.

That's a good idea Kip. There does seem to be a need for at least two strap sizes to cover a range. Maybe even three with a smaller one to cover the ladies.

some length options would be great! I prefer them on the long side, but with a 7 3/4+ wrist they are usually 'just' long enough.

The shorter straps paired with the C61 is just right for my 6.5" wrist. Looking forward to more designs for us smaller wrists!

On Tapatalk, so cannot vote , but for completeness my wrist size is 8.75inch. Even most xl straps I have in the last hole!

8.5inch here. If I wear a watch upside down, so the 12 is toward me, it sits a lot better. So for anyone over 7.75inch it needs a complete re-design. :D
