Hans and I were discussing some of the differences between more expensive and less expensive watches in another thread. I thought it would be better to break this out in its own thread.
Hans, one of the issues you mentioned you saw in your new Seiko that is an indicator of less attention to finishing is the end link fitting to the lug. You mentioned that the shape of one didn't exactly match the other.

Scroll down to the two images with the bracelet. While that is a sharp looking watch, and everyone seems to swoon over Sinn, those end links don't seem to match the lugs very well to me. Of course, it is just a picture and it could be deceiving, but to me, it looks like the end link sits higher at its outer edge (away from the dial) than does the lug. The lug appears to taper down, while the end link doesn't appear to taper as much.
Maybe I am nitpicking, and you certainly didn't offer the Sinn as the example of quality, but I can't help but think my CW Aviator fits as well as that, maybe better.
