I have never found that wearing a watch during playing sports (baseball, lacrosse, golf, bowling, table tennis, sports car racing) has been an issue; but then I am also the person chosen right after the fence post and dead tree.
The last watch I bought will be the next to last watch I ever buy!

This is the perfect excuse for a quartz grab and go. I'm not a G-Shock guy (although there is nothing wrong with them), so I wear a C6 or Casio Edifice for sports.

Have you considered a Nike fuel band for playing sports in? It's a digital watch which also counts calories burned and other interesting fitness metrics.

It's not your traditional watch, but it definitely made to take the impacts of all different types of sports.

I know I've been eyeing one for a little while!
