second hand cw

Post by kiter65 »

I have read a few posts, where members stated that they have sold their CW's. Apart from sales area on this forum (do not have 30 posts yet) where is the best place to find second hand CW's? Only looking for mint boxed with papers.

eBay is a good place to start.

I would say for watches with warrantys and clean history go with the sales corner here, older models seem to fetch more on ebay, where warrantys seem to be less of an issue.
Hold on and get your 30 posts in, then check out the for sale section, its well worth it.

Good luck Steve

You can try Watchrecon.com. The site tracks FS threads on a large number of forums. There have been a number of CW sales threads in the past month.

To be honest once you see the sales corner you might be a little disappointed. It's not really a place where you'll find deep discounts on CW watches and usually not many people are selling of their CWs at any one time. You'd be better off trying ebay.

To help the OP I'd say to keep looking on EBay and in Sales Corner here. I've only been here about a month but my experience is that you're slightly more likely to catch a bargain at the Bay than here but overall the watches I've seen make their money. Keep your eye on both, keep looking at CW's website and form an opinion of which models you like the look of.
Oh and when looking at watches on EBay, especially in the USA don't forget to factor in the cost of shipping, customs, VAT: you might be better off buying new.
C60 MKI, MKII, MKIII: "some",
C6 & C60 Kingfishers,
C600 Tritechs,
C63 "some",
C65 "some",
C4, C40, C8, C9, C3, C5, C20 & 23FLE
Some other brands

I started by looking at eBay and then sales corner when I got 30 posts - but bought my watch in the Nearly New sale - with 30% off - I believe there are 2 sales a year - definitely worth the wait

If you want a particular model then try a Want To Buy post....they can be quite productive.
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

I'd agree that sales corner isn't the place for a bargain, but it is a place for peace of mind. Knowing a fellow forum member has most likely looked after their watch, and wouldn't risk their reputation by selling a dud is a great advantage when buying second hand. If it costs you a few quid extra, in the long run that probably isn't the most important thing.

It's arguable whether I've ever said anything useful, but the posts do gradually mount up.
