Marc was there a weight of shipping? because here in the UK recorded shipping has weight across the world

and me being criminal minded can see this being clear quick refrence for you
A. was the watch in the box when sent.
B. if the weight is different then you know it was in Transit then what you got now

I'm not pointing or saying nothing but eliminates the above 1 way or another

As it was bought in dollars I am guessing it's from the states, don't know if they weigh stuff there? Never posted anything in the states, maybe one of our brothers across the pond can enlighten us

Sorry to hear that, I hope it somehow turns up.

A USPS receipt should have the weight and destination number listed on it.

I know it was the states Marc said that in his post, I was saying how it works here just in case it's simular over there? I'm hoping it's simular because its usually priced on weight and size parcels and custom declaration to the receiving country,so I'm hopeful this may be useful info for Marc just in case

I see it read like you had not spotted it, just pointing it out in case you had made a balls up by accident.. Luckily this was not the case, still it seems so odd, never heard of this happening at all, usually the package just doesn't come, who would just nick a watch, how odd

I always have that difficulty as who to use when shipping from the States to Europe. If a shipper is not responsive when things go wrong, I don't want to use them.
DHL was the shipper used in this case for the shipment from the US to Belgium.

That indeed seemed like a great idea, Skimrok. Unfortunately the weight I could retrace was only detailed upto lbs level, which is too high level to really know wether/when the watch was in or out. The package weighted 6 lbs, which seems like an average for a packaged Christopher Ward box. The watch itself would only have weighted 0,41 lbs so when taken out it can only be traced if the total weight then drops under 6lbs. And it doesn't: as far as I could trace it the package has always weighted 6lbs, from initial shipping up to the delivery at my home.
I also agree with the comments of other fellow members that it seems strange that only the watch was missing and not the complete box. If only the box had been completely lost I would have had a case to reclaim the insured value. Now it's up to me to prove that the watch indeed got stolen during the shipping; which is virtually impossible to do.
best
