Help needed to find stolen C60 FLE 2012 Blue (#28)

Post by Euromance » Mon May 13, 2013 3:38 pm

I was so much hoping I never had to write this post, but after looking for a solution for several weeks now I have no other choice: the C60 FLE 2012 Blue (#28) I bought from fellow forum member SlvrSrf got stolen during delivery.  With this post I’d like to ask the help of all other members to be on the lookout together with me: in case you ever see a C60 FLE Blue #28 come up for sale or repair, please remember this post and drop me a short note. Perhaps that way there’s still a very tiny chance I can ever reclaim my purchase.

The watch was bought from Joe (SlvrSrf) at the end of January of this year. After my payment the box was shipped within a very reasonable time. Unfortunately when the box in the end arrived to my home address in Belgium, it was empty. The watch was taken out leaving me with nothing else but an empty box, the paperwork and some spare links.

Joe was very communicative when I told him about the issue and he assured me he didn’t make an honest mistake and that the watch was correctly shipped by him. So this leaves no other option but to conclude that the watch indeed got stolen during transport. We still tried to reclaim (part of) the money by making use of the shipping insurance but unfortunately we failed to sufficiently prove that the shipping box had been tampered with during shipping and so (up till now) the shipping company refuses a refund.

So here I am now: having lost 720$ and (perhaps even worse): still no C60 FLE Blue. After being active on Ebay/other fora/... for years I personally never had had any shipping issues like this before so I guess you can understand my disappointment. Luckily there aren’t very many C60 FLE Blues around so if one number 28 ever shows up it can perhaps be noticed by any of you and at least we can then perhaps trace back what has happened with the watch.

A big thanks to the forum for allowing me to post this message and also already a thank you to everyone motivated to keep an extra eye on any private watch sales adds they come across. In case of any other question, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Marc

Really sorry to hear this Marc. Such a distinctive watch should be easily traceable if ever it comes up for sale; my eye are peeled.

Where was it being shipped from? USA/Canada?

When I mentioned my stolen C4 to Wera she promised to have an official eye kept out for it should it ever return to CW Towers, so make sure you do that.

Also worth setting up an eBay alert for blue C60s in the hope the scum-bag does not realise it was specifically numbered and easily identifiable, though the membership on this forum would certainly spot it anyway...

Sorry to hear of your troubles ;(

Also worth asking Scooter to indicate on his list of owners that 28 is a stolen one...

Thanks for the tip on informing Wera, Cirrus. Will do so ASAP.

I am sorry to hear that my friend. I too will keep an eye out for #28 in my Web surfing. If you don't mind, what shipper was used. I always have that difficulty as who to use when shipping from the States to Europe. If a shipper is not responsive when things go wrong, I don't want to use them.

you may also want to regularly check some of the regular watch sales post trawlers to keep an eye out for it. like watchrecon.com, www.lionseek.com/watches and the like.

there is of course our own, AKirk's, www.watchroll.com that routinely trawls ebay for CWL watches.

Marc

Absolutely gutted to hear of this. When home I will update the Owners thread in red to reflect that it was stolen.

Rest assured we will all I'm sure be looking out for any future sale of this one.

So sorry
