I like the strap that came with the watch, but I would like a slightly darker brown. I was thinking I might try shoe polish. Anyone else tried this? It's just leather...

Dankev, I'm pretty sure shoe polish would come off. Unless there's a permanent type I'm unaware of.

I think with shoe polish you'd lose the variation in colour... it might all come out the same. I'd be more inclined to pick up another strap. I've been looking a bit (still) and there are plenty of great straps for not much money if you are looking for calf leather. :)

I have purchased a number of watch straps, on Ebay, from uk_watch_straps_and _batteries they stock a large number of all sizes and have deployment straps in all colours. If you can't see what you want you can contact them, they are very helpfull, good quality, quick service and cost from under £4.00 to £8.00 plus postage (£1.00 less if you buy more than one).
Worth having a look at. :D

Watch Strap

Post by BarryR »

I have just purchased a CW Malvern Chronograph but the one failing it has is the leather strap.

It is too small :(

If the last 2 holes are used then the end of the strap does not reach the leather retaining loops.

Any suggestions for a UK supplier?

Many thanks

I had the same problem with my Malvern Automatic original band. While very nice, it was either too tight on my wrist or the strap end didn't reach loops. I replaced it with a Hirsch Duke leather band. It is longer, very durable and beautiful semi-matt black and fits very well.
