I want to buy a watch!
Re: I want to buy a watch!
The answer is simple, buy the 39mm and take out a subscription to Pie club. If you take the platinum membership you should be able to bulk up enough that the 39mm will wear well…..
Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.
Re: I want to buy a watch!
Order the watch and in the meantime throw a new strap onto something in your collection that's feeling unworn.

Look in Sales Corner - that's where I found my green Sealander after I'd waited too long and it was back to pre-order only on the main website.

Are you “welshlad” or “welshBAD” for such a suggestion?welshlad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 3:48 pm Get Andrew to sell you his.
He seems quite attached to it, so I suggest you email Mrs Andrew directly to inform her of her husband's recent unauthorised purchase and offer to take it off their hands for the sake of their marital harmony. Win-win! You'd be doing them a service.
I'm sure Andrew would see the positives in this approach...eventually. Like in 10-20 years time. 30 at the most.

I know practical advise is not what you’re looking for but, Downers rule #6 must apply general-discussion/downers-rules-of-col ... 33126.html

Qubo is my AD
Actually Robin contacted me to sell me his white 36mm Sealander- if I wanted it!
It’s here already!
Having owned the 39mm for a short time this is even more of the GODO than that was. I love all the stuff about it - the lightcatcher case, the white dial, the date at six. But the thing I love most is the scale between the 36mm case and the 20mm lug size. The designer could have thought about a 19mm or even 18mm lug size, but stuck with 20. For me, relatively narrow lug sizes usually make a watch feel more dressy. The lug size here makes the whole thing look solid and totally fit for purpose.
I’m horizontal in bed with migraine so it’ll have to wait til tomorrow for pics.
Meanwhile I’m so grateful to Robin. This forum is such a friendly place. So so happy about how my watch collection has changed this year - very proud. Need to take some rest now!

First, I’m sorry to hear about the migraine. That’s brutal. I hope you recover quickly.missF wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 5:20 pm Qubo is my AD

Secondly, what a perfect turn of events! And what an insightful observation about the lug width. When first announced, I thought a narrower lug width seemed appropriate with a narrower watch. This based on nothing but an assumption that a smaller watch head must have a smaller lug width. Having the watch in hand now, I can really see how a narrower lug width would have changed the whole perception of the watch.
Enjoy the watch! I’m looking forward to some pics.
