Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
I contacted the developer a while ago about being able to reset the stats or set the start date of the chart. Instead I export the data into Excel for my annual chart, through which process I have noticed that …… if you change a watch during the day, it actually does record each watch on that date. You can’t see it in the app, but the record is there in the database.rkovars wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:03 pm Unfortunately, the OnMyWrist app leaves out us that change up during the day. You can only enter one watch per day (at least when I last looked at it). I contacted the developer about it and he said it was something he was looking into but didn't have any timeframes.

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
Hooray, that is an app deserving of as many downloads as it can get. It’s free, but the developer deserves the satisfaction of knowing he’s made our lives better / easier / more nerdy.
Two warnings, which I’ve mentioned before:
1 Get your watch names correct before you log any wears against them. If you subsequently change the watch name, the previous wears are logged against the old name and appear in the graph on a different line.
2 If you find yourself without a data signal, the app crashes when you are adding a wear because it is trying to determine your location (I travelled a lot before COVID, so this happened to me frequently).

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
As long as it shows in the running totals I am good with that. When I last looked at it it appeared that it overwrote what was there for the day.0uatiOW wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 9:16 pmI contacted the developer a while ago about being able to reset the stats or set the start date of the chart. Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
So there are nerd accessories (watches, hats) and nerd tools (watch apps).
How about nerd jewellery?

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
If it interests anyone, I've made a fair bit of progress with my app over the last couple of weeks
It allows for a collection and wishlist to be stored: Let's you see and edit details of your watches (doesn't save a picture yet, but has a placeholder for that function...)
Let's you see (and edit!) all the dates a watch has been worn
Shows a schedule of when services are due (highlighting ones in the near future)
...and finally, shows graphs of what you've been wearing
(Oh, and it lets you see this as a pie chart if you'd prefer that...)
Working now on adding some filters to the graphs (so you can see graphs by month/year) and then I might just release it before the end of the year...

^^^ this is great! I love a good pie chart
All the best with releasing this - the functionality is just what I’d use.

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
Once I get a proper build together I'll get a test release submitted to the app stores and make an early copy available for you to play with - the app submission process is probably the most awkward part of the build

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
Are you doing iOS and Android? I'd be a TestFlight participant if you are releasing on iOS.

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
Yep, runs on both (and I've only been able to test iOS on a simulator so far, so it'd be useful to get some real world feedback!)
Once I've done a bit more I'll jump through the hoops to get it on there and let you know!

Re: The Definitive Nerd Thread
Be happy to help. FYI - Currently I'm running an iPhone 13 pro, iPad Air 4th gen and an iPad Mini 5th. I can scare up some older devices too if needed.
