New summer release: Kurono Tokyo
Re: New summer release: Kurono Tokyo
Good grief Des. They are not for wearing, they are for flipping at a premium on eBay!strapline wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 9:28 am I'm amazed that there is much of a market for 34mm watches, the dial area probably isn't more than 28mm. As others have said it's very farer(ish). Aside from not being able to read the dial, I'd be concerned this could disappear down the back of the sofa.

Dial of 28mm is the typical dial size of a 38mm dive watch.

I wouldn't buy a 38mm dive watch, Neil. Nothing less than 42mm for me, just my preference.nbg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 10:23 amGood grief Des. Re: New summer release: Kurono Tokyo
I saw somewhere where someone with knowledge of the Japanese market said 34mm is a pretty popular size in Japan. I don't have any knowledge one way or the other to back that up. A cursory look through a couple of JDM websites shows a lot of 35 mm models.strapline wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 9:28 am I'm amazed that there is much of a market for 34mm watches, the dial area probably isn't more than 28mm. Re: New summer release: Kurono Tokyo
Yet none of his watches don’t sell through, and not just for flippers. His bespoke watch business had a six year wait time before they suspended taking more orders so he could catch up on production. How many atrociously unsellable watches has Asaoka made? I think his tongue is firmly in his cheek with that quote. He’s not even venturing to Alan Silberstein or Konstantin Chiakin territory.
