Why not just 'Ward' ? Would be easy to fit on a dial and takes a step away from Chris, not sure the twin flags cut it on their own in a brand based market place.
Then when they bring out in-house chronometer master pieces they can call them 'TimeWard'

I am surprised the "C" model nomenclature didn't go with Chris' departure, if I'm honest. I assumed the C stood for Chris, and the W models (if anyone remembers them!) were Wera?

Your recollection of the C and W nomenclature is correct.
As for the 'C' being dropped? I see no reason for it to be so.

^^^^ They certainly used C and W. However, the idea of it referencing Chris and Wera is a bit of an urban myth as I heard it.
With the initial designs they numbered the cases and gave them the abbreviation C. C1, which eventually became the Russell, was simply the first case. C5, which became the Malvern, was the fifth case. The W was added as an abbreviation when they started to develop smaller cases for the women’s watches.

^^^^You are correct Steve.
Despite the urban myth that persists, C simply stood for case and W for woman's cases.
