Advice on an alternative strap!

Post by simonje1010 »

Last month I bought a watch from an independent brand called echo/neutra. It’s a cortina 1956 3h in white. I thought I’d really love the watch but doesn’t feel right with the steel bracelet. Wanting to try a new strap before I move it on as was looking forward to receiving it. Any advice is appreciated.Image

To me, the starkness of the dial screams out for some color. I would go with something with some red to make the emblem pop. Something like this Artem maybe.

Or maybe this black with a red stripe from WatchGecko.

To my mind, there are few watches that don't look good on a "vintage" leather strap in camel. And looking at your watch, I haven't changed that opinion.

This may be a silly question, but what about the straps from echo/neutra themselves?

I quite like the beige one they picture on their website, though suede isn’t for everyone.

The problem is that, even with the bits of black and red, the white dial, hands and bezel look a bit bland against the bracelet. I like the suggestion of a colourful NATO, but you could also try it on a black rubber strap.

I prefer the NATO strap route (although we're not meant to call them that these days) but not with the oversized fitting that seem fashionable these days. Original, as per Mil Spec, size for me.

How about a white rubber NATO from WatchGecko?

Alternatively, something a bit disruptive from Haveston?

How about a black Milanese if you want to stick with metal.
