Stowa strap choices

Post by downer »

I've been looking for a strap for my Stowa Flieger, and decided to take advantage of the forum discount offer from Weston Watch straps (see here).

I purchased the watch on a Stowa flieger strap, but never really took to it..

I guess I'm not a real fan of riveted straps, as I think they're perhaps playing the "authentic" card a little too hard...

Recently I've been wearing it on a TF canvas strap, which is very comfortable, but a little too casual....

Image

So, I stocked up on 20mm straps from Weston...

First up a Hadley Roma Black oil-tanned...

Image

Second, a Condor Black Kevlar...

Next, a Hadley Roma oil-tanned Chestnut leather...

and finally, a Hadley Roma Rust coloured, natural stitch leather..

And the winner is:

The chestnut leather..

For the moment, I'm using a brushed deployant..

All the straps are decent quality (the 'kevlar' is a bit shiny for my liking), and the prices are good, especially with the discount. Delivery was prompt, and the packaging was secure.

Excellent choice Richard. Frankly, I think either the chestnut or the rust look equally good.

Like it Mr D  8)

I should have bought your Stowa off you when you were having your moment of madness and had it for sale.

I like the rust strap best but I think the Kevlar looks best with this particular watch.

Overall I'm for the timefactors but the rust is also nice, and pleasing to see real pics of as I've ordered one for my precista, along with the stone/sand coloured version for the glycine.

Thanks for the discount forum mods :)

That Rust strap is pretty thick, especially at the buckle end. It's a nice strap though, particularly for £13.50ish. :)

I think you made the right choice with the Chestnut. It gives a nice vintage, but polished, look to the combo 8)

I really like the chestnut and, indeed, I have the exact same strap (in 22mm) on my C60 Red Jag. I originally bought it for my blue C4 and it looks great with that too, but I prefer it on the red C60. It's nice to see a brown leather strap with some "colour" in it. It goes great with your black flieger. I may get a 20mm version for my black C3 come to think of it... :)

A great selection of straps. I'd vote for the rust just ahead of the chestnut. Either way, you've chosen well.
