Basic premise: I love my C5 but I don't love the strap. For some reason it feels uncomfortable especially where the deployant sits - never been a problem with the wider straps on the C70 and C8.

I thought of ordering a brown Cordovan from Nomos (the Tangente is also 18mm and that feels marvellous)

Failing that, anyone found a really good one?

Easy solution: sell me your C5.

Temporary solution - changed it onto a fairly crappy strap last night, but at least it's comfortable. I'm going shopping today, but the Nomos straps are there if all else fails!

Thanks, Leo...had a nice shopping trip. Last night I took the crappy old strap off my Yema and put it on the C5, and it felt fine.
Then I discovered the Yema has 17mm lugs, and the chap who sold it to me crammed an 18mm strap on it. So now the Yema has a 17mm Hirsch camel grain leather...



And I decided the C5 would look best on a fairly dressy black strap, so here it is on a Puccini Teju lizard...

Totally agree about the gold strap. I had to swap links around until it felt right. May go for a brown leather in the future

Mine was on the brown leather, but I just never liked the feel of it. This one feels and looks much better.

Lizard always looks good on a dress watch, although my personal preference is for brown on a gold watch. The strap definitely suits the C5. The camel grain looks sharp on the Yema, too. A successful shopping trip I'd say.

Definitely a good trip - the lizard was about half the price of similar teju straps on Watchstyle, and the camel grain was £25 at Watch Hospital - the exact same strap was £36 on Watchstyle!
I've always thought brown straps for gold too, and my Omega has always been on brown, but this just looked so good I went for it for a change.

Took youngest daughter to cinema today. Latest muppet movie. Was much fun. But...... Could have sworn the evil guy, Mr Richman, was wearing a C5 gold.

Both watches look good Steve. I think you're right about the lizard grain adding to the dressy appearance of the C5 and the Yema looks great. I put my new strap on my C5 MkII today. Looks pretty good.

As said above, the gold strap needs a lot of links moved to centre it comfortably.
