Rally strap for the Breitling?

Post by ItsAliveJim »

Apart from an SS bracelet and a rally strap, I think I've tried everything else on my Breitling Windrider.

I don't think a bracelet will work for me on this watch, so that leaves the rally option, but can someone please tell me the difference bewtween these three, apart from £5?

And I know I should stump up the £32 for a Hirsch but I want to see what a rally strap looks and feels like first.

Here's the watch:

Any thoughts welcome, including colour choice - brown or tan? :D

Not sure if it was proposed in the other thread John, but have you considered a Mesh for the Breitling.

Watchgecko direct & also on eBay. I used direct and they were very quick ie. next day it arrived.

Cheers footy but I don't think mesh is right for this one :(

I've got mesh on my Squale and that's perfect, but the Breitling is different

The only thing I've noticed on some rally straps is that they're rather thin. Your Breitling will benefit from a chunky strap, I reckon.

I think some of the problem with straps for this has been the thickness. It was on a Di Modell Jumbo at first but didn't feel comfortable on the wrist, although it looked the part.

The current alligator is ok but still not quite right. It's hard to put my finger on, but I've gone all out anyway and ordered the Hirsch Rally seeing as they're now discontinued.

I just hope it's the one

I think this is the one:

It's by far the most comfortable strap yet, and I think it's given the Windrider the lift it needed to really make me fall in love again :D

Hopefully post better pics in daylight tomorrow

That looks a great match there, I will have to consider something similar for my Colt :-)

I have a super ocean steel fish on a champagne dial and I have the steel bracelet and a tan leather one.
Being a Breitling I would say stick with the Breitling leather strap. Yes they are expensive but do the watch some justice.
You wouldn't buy a Porsche and stick a set of wheels on it from Halfords would you.

Go for the tan leather strap.
