Martu Black Friday time
A year or two back I bought a vintage yellow strap from Martu’s Black Friday sale. It seemed a bit outrageous but I love it. This year I decided to go for slightly outrageous again and ordered this for my sandstorm:
Martu makes very good quality straps, and 30% off in the sale is a real bargain. I’ll let you know next year sometime when it arrives!

^^^^ Thanks for the reminder Lindsey.
I really ought to get a few more straps from Martu.

They still have the purple one, I still don't have a watch it will work with. Ordered another instead...

Thanks for the reminder. I visited the website and decided to get a nice padded strap for my Red 2012 FLE when I want to dress it up (it's mostly on rubber/silicone).missF wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 12:03 am A year or two back I bought a vintage yellow strap from Martu’s Black Friday sale. Re: Martu Black Friday time
2023 FLE is going to be purple?! Sadly I think not, but as it will have to be a somewhat universally appealing colour to be a success I also suspect it won't be for me. Which puts me back keeping an eye out for something big and orange without a dive bezel, and I don't think the purple will go with that eithermissF wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 3:26 amBuy the purple strap and this will create the right universal condition for the watch to appearsuicidal_orange wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 3:18 amThey still have the purple one, I still don't have a watch it will work with. ^^^^ Well?
Somebody had to order the Heavy Padded Vintage Purple strap. Didn't they?

Andrea's 'Heavy Padded' straps are one of my favourites, especially as I am able to get them in a the longer (85mm/135mm) length that I prefer and, to make the postage worthwhile, I ordered several others too.

I ordered this:

It's supposed to be black but the pic makes the leather look dark brown.

Re: Martu Black Friday time
You know what? This doesn't look terrible

So you would be a good person to ask if the Sealander is a "heavy watch", meaning the strap will fit?Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:57 amAndrea's 'Heavy Padded' straps are one of my favourites

^^^^ That's precicely why I ordered a 20mm Heavy Padded Vintage Purple strap.

I've also got a 22mm version coming for my green dial watches.

Re: Martu Black Friday time
I don't think the blue and orange hybrid would look great, I find bright white looks a bit clean for a canvas strap too. Other than that you're probably right

How long are you expecting to wait for your new strap? One person giving a big discount must make for a long backlog...

Re: Martu Black Friday time
^^^ Guy or Patrick might remember better than me how long the straps took to arrive. Over two months I think. But to be fair to Andrea most of that time taken seemed to be due to the speed of Chilean snail Mail!
Edit - you can opt for two shipping options for Martu straps - free snail mail, or express courier service that costs about £60!

Re: Martu Black Friday time
I think the estimate given was 6 weeks or more? I'm treating it as an "order and forget" item, then I'll be pleasantly surprised when it arrives in Jan/Feb!
