Help me cheer up my Hamilton Khaki GMT!

Post by muuds »

Here is my Hamilton...

It deserves more wrist time... any of you good folk suggest a strap to complement this fantastic timepiece?

Thanks in advance.

I am considering buying the dark brown hirsch liberty and trying it alongside the mid brown I just ordered for my pvd seiko.

Other than that I might look for a SS strap for this watch if anyone knows where I can source them (preferably UK)

Any other thoughts on what might suit this watch?

Maybe a vanilla-coloured strap? https://toshi-straps.co.uk/straps/vanilla/

Sure looks nice on a Panerai...

The vanilla looks great but I have light skin so unfortunately I've got to rule that out.. (memories of my Dunhill with camel strap that was fantastic but never got any wrist time).

Like the pilot strap idea... again Im thinking vintage/ aged look might suit... what do you think?

Lol I like the watch too, but they are pretty big, thick and heavy.

A nice leather NATO (try crown & buckle)

A Steve-O Para strap, or any canvas strap.

For a fiver you can order a canvas strap from Timefactors. Probably too thin to really work well on the Khaki GMT (only about 2.5mm thick at the springbars), but a cheap way to see if you like the look. Here's my Hamilton Khaki on the TF canvas:

For a vintage look you can take some sandpaper to the canvas and rough up the edges a bit. That was my intention when I bought the canvas, but I never got around to it.

I'm not usually a fan of canvas straps, but in combination with a bit of leather, they can look really good - like that one does.

That does look good, I might take the green canvas strap off my seiko and try it for size!
