Ah so this is about a strap and some great research and product testing there by @0uatiOW

I thought it was something to do with sharing a hot tub with Erika Eleniak and that I'd missed an invite to the latest forum gtg

You might find that any chlorine/soap in the hot water might change the elastic proprties over time.

Yes, I'm still talking about the strap!

Just having a wee browse at straps tonight for a few of my watches and came across Erika's MN straps, some great looking straps. I just need to work out which colour combos would suit which of my watches.

Which watches have you guys got any of these on, Halios aside?

Patrick,

Watchgecko have just started selling their own 'French style' elastic MN straps and I also saw this evening on Facebook that Moose Strap Co, Canada are doing something similar.

In the meantime, as I don't like the single pass style of the Erica's Original type strap, I have bought a few more from George's Straps on ebay. His are elastic, but proper NATO style.

Worth checking over?

I've been thinking of trying an Erica's MN strap for a ages now but never got around to it as price is quite high. I saw the Watchgecko French style straps yesterday evening and the price is right so I bought two to try on a couple of watches. At £18 (as opposed to 50Eu) they seem to be well priced so worth scratching an itch. Unlike Guy, I would prefer single pass to typical NATO style so haven't tried George's.

I'll post a couple of pics when they arrive.

I've been pleased with my recent purchase from Watch Steward. If it were just a bit shorter, I could wear it as a single pass nato. Nice elastic, very comfortable, maybe not as convenient as he is on the wrong side of the pond for those in the UK.

Ordered an Erika MN for my GMT, I think it’s a good match and first impression it’s a comfortable strap to wear ImageImage

Would love to see some comparisons between the Erika, Watch Gecko and George's straps as quite keen on this style.

I only have the Erikas but I have to say the quality is excellent and very comfortable. Yes it costs a bit more than the watchgecko. Erikas will work out at around £50 delivered vs about £20 for the watchgecko. Watchgecko have been sold out of the most popular colours/sizes for while now though and also Erika will custom make yours to the wrist size you specify which I think is a big selling point. Also feels better to buy the original item rather than an imitation but that's just my personal view. Erikas have a wider range too.

So quite expensive but I bought it for a watch I spent the best part of £3k on so not really so much in that context. I also think it matches the watch better than Tudor's own nato that you could buy the GMT on (I went for the bracelet version), which I'd guess would cost about £250 to buy now from an AD.

I have one of the original MN straps (designed for watches with fixed spring bars) and a couple of Erica’s. Expecting a couple of the WatchGecko ones to be delivered tomorrow.

Will then be able to do a comparison.

I have both Watchgecko and Erica's MN straps. I bought the Watchgecko's first just to prove the principle to me and see if I like them before splashing out on Erica's. I did like them and the style of strap worked for me but I found the material a bit thin and floppy with a heavy watch. So I bought a couple of Erica's too. The Erica's are on a different level to the Watchgecko's, the material is thicker and feels altogether more hard wearing with a better texture and the fittings are higher quality too. Even though the material is thicker they are still very compliant and comfortable and with a little less stretch that suits a heavier watch better. Are they worth £50? I would say JUST, I would like to see them at £35 - £39 and at that price point I would say they would be superb value. I guess you have to pay the extra for the higher quality and original ideas as all us watch lovers know too well. The Watchgeckos have now been consigned to my strap drawer from which there is usually no escape.
