Looks like you’ve done a good job on it Guy and I suspect you’ll be very pleased with the results when you fit it to the watch.
Cheers Gary. Tool watch look is the intention, as it matches up with my current lifestyle.

If I was still working and wearing a suit daily, I'd look to keep the PCLs.

I've just purchased on of those pads based on this thread - the SuperEngII i use on my C11 could use sone tidying up. Any good instructional vids/links you would recommend?
Nothing particular to recommend I'm afraid to say.

I googled 'brushing watch bracelet' and loads of forum threads and videos came up. I read a couple of the threads but one of them had asinine ocd comments about dismantling the bracelet into individual link.

A few tips to give you;-

1. You must brush in one direction along the length of the bracelet only; don't go sideways or circular.

2. Be positive but not too forceful with the brushing. Finish with light 'polishing' strokes'.

3. One suggestion I read, which I may still do, is to give the brushed bracelet a very light polish with some Cape Cod, just to soften the finish a touch.

NB> Alternative suggestions from more experienced forum contributors are welcome.

That will look brilliant on your Protochrono.
That's the hope Ferg.

I'll maybe get it switched over at the weekend, although having found the 'perfect' strap in the AlphaShark Iguana I have a dilemma. :problem:

I ordered one of those pads on Wednesday from Watchobsession, along with an economy tin of Cape Cod, to try and get some scratches out of a couple of my clasps. Dare I try it on one of my Trident Bracelets?! I'd love the bracelet on my GMT to be brushed for more of a 'Tool' look, but don't know if I'm as brave as you Guy! Fantastic looking job that, will look great on the 'Proto Chrono'

Not sure I dare.

I'm OK doing my own bracelet as, if I get it wrong, I only have myself to blame.

I have brushed a few bracelets and cases myself (C60 Bracelet and Case, C7 MKII Case). Cases are more complicated but as long as the strokes are straight with light pressure on the bracelet, it is truly a hard process to screw up and is pretty forgiving if your hand does stray off course (just brush over it again with straight strokes). The only part you can really go wrong is if you put firm pressure on it, hand strays off course and the brush marks are too prominent to fully cover up with corrective brush strokes. In this case you could likely just get out a cape cod, polish it up and try again.

I think you'd be suprised just how easy and quick it is to do and your SMP bracelet a perfect candidate to try it on being that it is just sitting in a drawer and you've already got a replacement for it.

I've always used a green scotchbrite pad and have one in my drawer now for quick touch ups. Works great.

I honestly have no patience for anything like this, would let someone confident have a crack at it.

Greg the bracelet on your Seamaster is not the ideal bracelet to let someone "have a crack at"!

It will be far more difficult to get spot on than a Trident bracelet, due to the more complex link construction of the Omega bracelet.

Out of interest why didn't Omega sort it when you had the watch serviced?

BTW I wonder why you can get the 20mm CW bracelet in brushed steel but the 22mm is only in polished version :/

Finally got around to fitting the brushed bracelet to my Protochrono.

Having left the sides of the bracelet polished, they blend really well with the bevelled edge of the case, which is also polished.

Yes, I agree that's a much better match with that watch than the PCLs, quite a marked difference and very much an improvement. Well done Guy.
