Broken pin Bader Bracelet

Post by Ralphhardwick »

Tonight I decided to change the Bader bracelet on my Sealander. Unfortunately I found that I was unable to slide one of the pins in.
I tried wiggling and changing the pressure to try and get it to release until the slider bit came away from the pin.
Has anyone else encountered this?
The bracket was only bought in January, so it will be covered by the warranty. Does anyone know if I will have to send it back or if they would send out a replacement part?
One minor hiccup is that it isn’t attached to the watch that it was bought with.

^^^^ That's frustrating. :( :(

To clarify, if I may; the pin you are referring to is one of the quick release spring bar pins in the end link?

Is the bracelet still attached to a watch?

A couple of pictures will help understand the issue, if you are able to post them please.

Has the pin got a screw thread to it?

If so, might you be able to screw it back into the spring bar?

Alternatively, have you got a spring bar tool, or screwdriver with a fine pointed end, that you could put in the hole to pull it back?

Unfortunately no screw thread and the reason it broke was because the spring bar wouldn’t ‘retract’ on that end.
I don’t want to force it too much as I don’t want to negate a warranty claim.
I’ll drop CW a line tomorrow and hope for a speedy resolution.
I’ll keep you informed.
