Bracelet adjustment

Post by Paul Drawmer »

Frustrating - can't believe I've had my new C60 for three days and haven't got the strap adjusted yet!

I have a cheap blue plastic pin removal tool, but I thought I'd get something better (!)

DO NOT BUY. It is rubbish. But then at that price, I'm hardly surprised.

Please recommend a bracelet pin remover that whilst not suitable for a lifetime's work on the bench, will work when used with care.
There's always time for one more.

I have had one of these for several years now...

I like it because the pin is very thin - enabling it to pass through the central collar of pin/collar links found on (amongst others) CW and Omega.

The pin can break if you apply too much force when it is not completely straight, but replacement pins are available and low cost.

I bought one of these following downer's earlier recommendation and I have to say it is the best one I've used. It even makes adjusting a C60 bracelet a piece of cake... and they are not easy in comparison to most others. So thanks Richard! As he mentioned, just be careful to keep the pin as straight as possible...

I gave up on this type of tool and reverted to a nylon faced hammer and a pin punch just make sure its small enough to go right through the center of the links, but even a C60 was very easy.

My TH Aquaracer was by far the most difficult watch to have its bracelet resized. My watchmaker took a lot more than usual, poor man.
