A new strap for my Bremont Solo

Post by lloyd_m »

I am looking for something that will complement my white dial Solo. I bought it with the standard brown calf leather with white stitching but I want something that will stand out a bit more, and if it can be waterproof then that is a bonus. I don't think that rubber will suit this and I'm not a fan of canvas, at least not on an elegant face like this. I know that Schofield do a black sharkskin strap that is waterproof to a squillion feet, so that's an option. I quite fancy something with a bit of colour in it but could still be worn as a dress watch. It will need to complement the dial, which is more of a cream than white.

Any suggestions welcome.

I can't really help with waterproof, but I know some of the Hirsch are water resistant - have a look at watch obsession http://www.watchobsession.co.uk/index.php

If you fancy something special then perhaps bespoke - Toshi - http://www.toshi-straps.co.uk/ or SteveoStraps - http://www.steveostraps.com/ (I have both and can recommend both Rich and Steve as great guys)

With bespoke you could add some cream stitching to match the face and another colour to give it a lift

It will be interesting to see wha you go with - great watch by the way 8)

Thanks for the heads up. I have ordered a Desert Para strap from Steveo. Should go really well with the cream dial. Pictures to follow.

Looks good. I've gone for the Desert Para, which has the sandy coloured canvas instead of the green.

Ah yes; that's a new one which wasn't available a couple of months ago when I got my regular Para.

Looks good too.

You're right, I did, didn't I? It's just when I saw this it looked different from any other canvas I had seen before and at under £40 delivered I figured that if it didn't work on my Bremont I could use it on one of my other watches.

Steveo has sent me a photo of the strap that is coming my way. I love it.

I have to be honest and say, although it's a nice strap, it doesn't really work with the Solo; it's a bit too rustic for this particular watch so I have changed back to the original. It's also not as comfortable but that is being harsh as it will need to bed it. I think it would be better suited to a casual watch.

I think your right, a really nice looking strap but not on your Bremont. I am sure you will have something that suits it though, and if not, buy another watch that will !

I have to agree. I am surprised, but it does nothing to compliment the watch.
