Re: A new strap for my Bremont Solo
On the comfort front, give it just a day or two and it should be fine.
My para strap is the most comfortable I have, aside from my NATOs.

A wise choice to remove that strap from your Bremont. Nice strap / Nice watch, but a poor combination. It seems to happen surprisingly often...

It's a shame, but I have to agree - great watch and great strap (once it is worn in which should be pretty quick), but not a great combo - I hope you have another watch that will suit it.lloyd_m wrote:Here you go: .......
I have to be honest and say, although it's a nice strap, it doesn't really work with the Solo; it's a bit too rustic for this particular watch so I have changed back to the original. It's also not as comfortable but that is being harsh as it will need to bed it. I think it would be better suited to a casual watch.
White faced watches can be a bit tricky to match up - I don't know if the following (old) shot of my O&W helps?
That is a Strevostrap, but not a canvas. It might still be a bit casual for you though ...
It might be worth asking Steve if he will swap

Nah, I like the strap it just doesn't suit this watch. So, as I said to another member, it's the tail wagging the dog, but I shall buy a watch to go with the strap.Robin CB wrote:

The light Para could look quite good on a C11 Black Manta; nice contrast.Robin CB wrote:

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I can't seem to take to the C11. It's no problem, something will come along I'm sure.

Re: A new strap for my Bremont Solo
I've just fitted one of these Bremont Vintage straps to my Supermarine:

Might work... ?
There's something about curved springbars and Bremonts - maybe it's the way the lugs curve down away from the case.

The Bremont vintage definitely works on the white Solo - at least, it works for me...Drmarkf wrote:I've just fitted one of these Bremont Vintage straps to my Supermarine:

Re: A new strap for my Bremont Solo
Yes, they're available I black as well I think, but I picked up a barely-worn dark brown one just last week second-hand off TZ-UK.
I'd been getting some irritation of the skin of my wrist with the Supermarine's standard rubber strap (I think it was just from moisture beneath the strap rather than any reaction to the rubber) and this was well worth a punt at 55 quid. It looks very good and is extremely well made.
It must be said that the new price is very steep - you can see how it has been given more finishing than, say, a Toshi, but I wouldn't say it was 2 - 3x as good...

Re: A new strap for my Bremont Solo
I agree, the RRP's for Bremont straps are a bit crazy. Without doubt, they are a premium product, but at the end of the day, they are only a piece of leather...... fortunately, I got my Vintage as part of the deal with my Solo...
Interesting to hear you have fitted the vintage strap to your Supermarine. I am still thinking about the 'perfect' strap for mine. I have it on the bracelet, which is very nice, but a heavy combination. The standard Bremont rubber strap is a bit too rigid and 'plasticky' IMO. Having tried the silicone strap on my Sinn, I am a definite convert to the merits of a good rubber/silicone strap - in fact I even thought about trying the Sinn rubber on the SM500...
