Hi all, I've just recently the forum and this collection is technically from February (hence the month timestamp)
Going left to right.
My wife's rings not really part of the collection but currently their home.
Bulova Precisionist 96b158
I bought this in 2021 as I fell in love with the idea of a sweeping quartz movement, I also enjoy the albeit printed swirling dial design and sought out looking for the bulova tuning forks logo variant as opposed to the baton marker at 12 and happened upon it by chance on ebay soon after deciding on the variant.
Christopher Ward C60 Sapphire
Likely the first CW I saw that truly got me into the watch collecting rabbit hole.
I bought this soon after my Wedding in April 2021, though sorry to say whilst I fell in love with the images, I didn't fall in love with it in person.
However, I wore it for a few more days and it just felt right. Though I would want to 'upgrade' it to the C60 BLUE LE.
Timex Expedition Sierra 41mm.
Whilst I did enjoy the sweeping quartz, I felt that I was missing the ol' ticking quartz. I also wanted something interesting to it. This also happens to be the watch I needed after getting a permanent contract at my new workplace (I had changed jobs from a scientist to a warehouse operative) so something more like a beater watch would be suitable.
Disregard the strap in the last slot, it's my wife's smartwatch that doesn't get charged haha.
The watches I buy tend to fill a function for their design.
The Bulova is a business casual type watch though I've never worked in an office environment but the movement is very neat nonetheless, the CW is my main daily watch and I had wanted something subtly loud in design (sapphire dial is just unique to me) and of course the light catcher case *chef's kiss hand gesture*.
The timex also functions as a work and beater watch. I had considered in the event of workplace or if I'm outdoors like at a theme park with the family I wouldn't want to damage the other 2 watches I own. Its also something that I could use in the dark thanks to the indiglo function.
To finish off my collection I would like to acquire a Stowa Marine no-date manual winding with roman numerals as that's the ideal dress watch in my eyes (within my budget).

A nice varied threesome there.
Your comments on the C60 Sapphire are interesting as sometimes it can take a while to appreciate a particular watch.
The Stowa Marine is an interesting choice to work towards, but have you considered a CW C9 Small Seconds in 40mm?

Nice collection you are growing there.
When you say you’d like the Stowa to finish off your collection. Did you actually mean to say you’d like the Stowa as the next part of your collection?

Not quite so easy to source these days, of course. It’s a nice threesome you have there, and I think the Stowa would complement them well. Dressier than the others, of course, but easy to wear in almost any situation.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 9:45 am The Stowa Marine is an interesting choice to work towards, but have you considered a CW C9 Small Seconds in 40mm?

@Bahnstormer_vRS
The C9 was an early consideration as it had a date window and it was more useful to me in my previous job but further consideration was if I wanted it to be more of a formal setting watch and date window function made the c9 lose its appeal.
Also being aware that a dress style tends to wear larger on wrist so 36-39mm would have been preferred.
@iain
Yes, the next one, I intended on a 4 watch collection.
Before buying a watch box, I had a hard think as to how many I wanted to get and how many watches I could happily rotate and when servicing comes round to afford any servicing costs.
At the time, I had 2 watches I thought 4 might've been too small in case the urge for further expansion ever comes and 6 felt too big if I only had 2 or 3 at most and would have left a lot of empty space for a long time.
5 felt ideal but none came in a design I liked or was willing to pay. So...I ordered a 10 slot watch box xD
2 levels of 5 with the upper tier with watches and the lower 5 for other jewellery like cuff links and other accessories between me and the wife.
@Amor Vincit Omnia
I also wanted a manual winding watch as it would have been a watch less worn, no date became apparent after changing the date on the C60 if it ever ran out felt like a minor inconvenience. Searching for a 36-39mm white dial with roman numerals, no date and manual winding and clear caseback was exceptionally difficult criteria.
Whilst a few do exist, some either lacked some criteria or the value proposition of the Stowa was simply worth saving for in comparison.

Lovely collection. I wore a nearly identical Timex for quite awhile. I still have it somewhere.

Thanks @jkbarnes
I think a lot of the expedition range has that sort of layout but I wanted the stainless steel case one as opposed to the resin or brass.

It’s lovely to see a collection of three because you get an idea of the owners way of thinking. I think that once you reach a certain higher number of watches you’re less likely to be considering the shape of the whole collection when you buy a watch (unless you’re Welshlad with his spreadsheets
), but at three I reckon there’s more thought gone into why and how you wear watches and how you want your collection to hang together.
I might be wrong of course
I enjoyed checking out your collection of three - it looks great

And yet i never understood why people always settled on 3.
Power or three and whatnot but at the same time it also felt a little restrictive. But having 2 quartz watches and 2 mechanical is fairly easy maintenance.
Although I wear the precisionist less often (the c60 just feels comfier) it is a nice piece of engineering.

Hang around here for a while and we can certainly overthink the benefits of four, or three. I’m just not sure which came first - three watch collections or three watch travel rollsProjectd10 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 6:41 pm And yet i never understood why people always settled on 3.
