SOT Moonswatch C

Post by Maraeburn »

Hi all,

Appreciate there is not universal love for these, but I’m enjoying having a “plastic” fun version of my beloved Moonwatch, and thought I’d share my collection so far…

First up is mission to the sun. This was my first moonswatch which I purchased in April of last year at about a £130 premium on retail! Not great but not terrible…

Next up was the mission to mars, again purchased on eBay but this time at only a £30 premium!

Then came my first purchase from the swatch store on Oxford street. And this was the one I wanted (almost the most), and it does not disappoint.

Just passed by the Oxford street branch on a Friday afternoon and asked and they had one left, Saturn. Probably the oddest one of all. But fun all the same.

Then my wife got the the Mercury for Xmas, unfortunately she had to go to eBay and paid (I believe) a pretty big premium… however I’ve paired it with my omega Cordura strap from my 3861, and it looks superb!

Finally I picked my the Venus again from the Oxford street store, I think generally as long as you are not trying to get a moon, mercury, or Neptune, you can almost swing by and pick them up at your leisure. I also think this could work on a male wrist too.

So there you have it, I do want to complete the collection, albeit I have zero interest in the moon as it does just look like a cheap version of my 3861, and the others offer something very different and fun. Next one I’m in London I’ll head over to swatch and hopefully pick up the earth!

Brilliant :D
I had total joy when these appeared. Brilliant bit of creativity, fun and v smart marketing. Collectibles (and swappables I think) for ‘grown ups’. I’m glad you’re still collecting, enjoying and wearing.
I really like the Saturn

They look terrific. I would have bought a pluto, but I'm not going to be anywhere near a boutique, so it's not likely to happen.

Great fun, and it would be good if you were able to complete the collection. Most of the colours would not appeal to me, but having looked on their website I do like the Neptune, which is a much nicer blue than Uranus. The Mercury is pretty cool too.

I somehow quite like them. I’ve been contemplating the one in SC.

But, knowing me, I’d need the full set. So I’d end up on an expensive slippery slope!

Something different and fun to collect. I can’t help but note that none are on the original strap. Are they as bad as people say or are you just saving them from wear?

Thanks all! Yeap the straps are awful, and do look really cheap, and also uncomfortable - fist thing I did was change out those straps for ones that I thought dressed up the watches a bit.

A great sub-collection there Mark; well put together.

The Saturn is the one of most interest to me; I like the brown hue to it and the 'Rings'.

Maybe I'll get the opportunity to pass by the Oxford Street or Carnaby Street store at some stage. :-k :-k

Great bit of fun collecting. I would really like to have the mission to the moon if I ever have the chance to pick one up.
Cheers now, Paul

Nice collection there! I’ve got 3 so far, Earth, Mars and Saturn. The only other ones I want are Mercury/Moon but don’t really want to pay over the odds on eBay!

Most times I’ve been to a store they’ve had something in stock. Just never timed it right for Moon/Mercury

And waiting on some new straps. The Velcro ones look okish…but do feel very cheap!

I think the Saturn is the one out of the ones I’ve got that I’d wear the most
