Golfjunky SOTC March 2018

Post by golfjunky »

Hi boys and girls,

Can’t remember when my last SOTC was but there has been a few changes. When I started collecting in 2009 I never thought I would sell anything, then through this forum I found a world of other companies and my funds wouldn’t stretch as far as my thirst for more shiny things.

Just looked and the last SOTC was 2014, I regret selling the Trident COSC all the others that have come and gone in between have not been missed.

Im very close to my end goal I think. I just want the white (garage door) AT on the orange and black nato and then I’m done unless I come into some serious wonga.

1:- always said I didn’t need a dress watch but at this price point the Seiko was a no brainier
Image

2:-G-Shock, my do it all beater. nuff said
Image

3:-38mm C60 600, bought xmas 2017 as a holiday watch and auto beater when the activity/situation is not too bad for the Casio but not the environment I want the Omega’s in. Have a Halios on order and this will prob go to make way for it.

4:-Omega Seamaster Pro. Probably my most favourite watch.
Image

5:-Omega Speedmaster ‘Moonphase’. My perfect speedy.

Pretty much perfect for me atm and ticks all the boxes for any situation.

Very cool collection. Harder to show restraint in collecting watches than other hobbies. For example the g shock, I always upgrade or swap my beaters just as much as the luxury buys. Not sure why tho, they are the ultimate tool watches and you only need one. Moonwatch moon phase has grown on me so much through your pictures alone.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Perfect small collection for all occasions. I admire your restraint.

Glad i wasn't the only one who thought they needed a bomb proof watch obsession case. (still have no idea when i'd ever use mine, too big to travel with )

A nice concise, quality collection which covers all the bases. What is it about the Trident COSC that causes you to regret selling it?

Thanks, I can’t stand winders so the bomb proof case at 50% off makes the perfect bedside watch storage and it also reminds me not to buy too many

Lovely collection.

The two Omegas are iconic and I'd love to own either of them (or both!).

Every CW fan should have a Trident imo although I understand your point about the Halios (I have one on order too :) ) .

I also bought a Seiko Cocktail Time and it is a stunning dial (both design and the subtle ice blue colour) and a complete bargain to boot.

Pretty much a faultless collection.

I'm guessing that the G shock gets a good workout on the tarmac and fairways.

The Moonphase certainly adds something to the Speedmaster.

Good stuff there Greg and pleased to see the Speedmaster on its bracelet. The moon phase Speedmaster is one of my favourite Speedy’s.

The Seamaster Chrono was the watch I lusted after for many years, but I couldn't afford one... I still think they're a classic. The Speedy... 'nuff said  The Trident and the cocktail time are both lovely watches in their own right.

What more could a boy want? A really well thought out collection, Greg – and I do like those Omegas!

Thanks all, very kind

The Garmin vivoactive was missing as my wife has nabbed it. I use that for golf and sport. Think I will have to buy her a Fitbit to be able to get the Garmin back
