Does nothing for me I'm afraid. Clown watch.

I understand all the historical aspects and all... but I just can't see this selling. Seems like retro for the sake of it. Sorry Chris... me no like :-(

To be honest, if there was a single possible use of the markings, it would be great... but there's not, so it's not.

I'm not into this sort of style at all, but I appreciate the historical angle. The irony is, that most of the people who buy them won't be interested in the history, just like garish watches.

I was actually thinking the opposite. I think the main demographic here is obv the aviator/collector bunch. People collect aviators like some collect divers. I would think the historical angle would be the main draw to the most die hard. I couldn't find another sector watch by googling so the PR team may be right that at some point they may reach cult status. It just seems like a very narrow target to aim for. Props to CWL though for trying something new.

I agree with that on one level, I think it will certainly attract some/all of die hard aviation guys for sure; I just think that the style in the end will draw even more who know nothing about the aviation angle, or at least aren't too interested in it. I think there's a real market at the moment for bright in your face design, a lot of it is celebrity driven.
My take on them though, is that the design will tire quickly, a bit like following clothes fashion and buying the latest look only to be p*ssed off with it in a years time...it ages quickly. I know that I would probably fall victim to that if i bought one. On the other hand, classic styles will nearly always age well especially if updated sympathetically. It'll be interesting to see how they go.

Are there any photos of the real sector watches floating about? Be interested to see what they look like in real life...

They certainly don't appeal to me and I can see them 'sticking' when on sale...not good, I'm afraid...UB

Nope. Reason being that you can't put 24" rims on a yatch.

The watch is ugly in a delightfully eccentric way. Like Lord Bath.

The one with black dial might be sellable if indexes are super luminova, then it kind of reminds just a tad a bit of the modern Rolex Datejust Dials styles. A shame there isn't a bigger picture of the black dial availiable?

Kind of dial like this:

The best CW watch so far?
Of course the C5 Aviator Black Dial Limited Edition.
