It doesn't need to be a valjoux work. That is impossible for a malvern price. It just has to be automatic/mechanical. There is nothing wrong with a ETA 2824 right? or a similar movement.

just keep bringing on the mechanical watches...

I'm not sure if CW's goal is just to make a watch within a certain $/£ amount. I think the goal is to bring excellent watches without a 1000% markup due to advert and retailing costs. I still can't believe I paid 99£ for this kickass watch. Swiss auto/chrono movements are probably not cheap. But if you could get one in a quality watch without all the extra costs usually passed on to customers, it'd still be a great deal. So what if it costs twice as much as the Malvern. As long as I'm not being gouged at the register, I'm in.

I agree, there is a difference between something that's cheap and something that's a good value.
