...it's not an Aviator (to me). I've had my Aviator Special for 2 weeks now & would love to have a matching version in white. Unfortunately, the watch pictured looks more "sports-watch" to me than aviator-inspired. Think we could talk Chris into doing a proto with white dial & white date background using the existing Aviator numbers & hands (more like the IWC Spitfire)? I'd even offer to buy it and take it off his hands if it looks anything like I picture it will - even if it doesn't make it into the CW collection. I definitely wouldn't mind having a "custom" CW.

What do you think?

I don't understand what you mean twigfarm, the depicted white aviator has the exact same numbers on dial and the same hands as the black version, does it not :?:

Aaaaa.......No.

As you can clearly see Hans, the numbers on the white dial are solid black. The numbers on the black Aviator Special are silver-colored metallic with green luminova.

Now take a look at the hands. The hands on the white dial are outlined in black with white luminous material and with a black seconds hand. The hands on the black Aviator Special are silver-colored metallic with green luminova and with a matching seconds hand.

So you see? They are not the same.

Well, I guess that was a private joke just for me. :D

I was simultaneously pointing out that you had a good eye for the detail there on the differences of the two versions of the aviators, and making a reference to comedian Brian Regan. He has a bit about when he was a kid playing baseball, that was about the only compliment he got, "Good eye Brian. It's what they say when you didn't swing because they know you couldn't possibly have hit the ball." Something like that. Brian is my favorite comedian. He is fairly unknown to the masses, but most of the comics know him well. Jerry Seinfeld said the thought he was the funniest working comedian, and I know Dennis Miller likes him a lot. Check him out!

Now that I think about it, it was more like what they say when they know you were too afraid to even swing at the ball.

White Dial Aviator

Post by zopilote17 »

HANS:

Just curious if you might have you heard any discussion about adding a basic inner or outer 60 minute timing bezel for this new Aviator model ?

IMHO the dial configuration is OUTSTANDING !

Best Wishes from New Mexico USA

No Greg, I haven't heard about a new bezel for this Aviator. I have the same Aviator in black, and I like the dial-configuration, although I know there are people who think the inner 60-minute scale makes no sense...
