So sorry to hear of this, Kip. It seems clear that Star was much loved and that she gave you all that love back, with interest, throughout her long and happy life.

Re: New arrival...(Avo will approve)
Most great watches have maybe four or five elements that could not be improved, however still fall short of perfection. There are very, very few watches that tick every single box with no improvements possible. This is one of the latter. Simply stunning, Paul - congratulations and wear it in the rud...

Re: If you want to buy a Rolex
Watchfinder prices have gone mental. 18 months ago I paid £5450 for a year-old 114060, just over list at the time but less than a new one today. Now their cheapest one is £7150!! I've just been looking at their latest email and they are selling a 3year old BLNR GMT at £10,650 which is over ...

Re: Steinhart MILITARY 47 ST1 pink gold Ltd. Edition
The execution is superb with the white hands and numerals offsetting the glorious pink dial. A modern work of art that will very likely become many a collector’s prized possession.

Re: If you want to buy a Rolex
My most recent rolex purchase was the hulk. All stickers were removed and prior to sale I had to agree to the warranty being held for 12 months. This is policy within Goldsmiths now but is not a Rolex directive. The dealer I bought my black sub from removed the stickers for me but did not hold on t...

Re: C8 Concorde - Born from dreams
In another life and as part of my engineering degree I worked for Rolls Royce at Filton, Bristol in the mid 70s - working on the RB593 engne, the Olympus, the engine that powered the magnificent Concorde - the most iconic civilian aircraft ever made. Whilst I was there they were stripping out one of...

Re: What are your watch plans for 2019?
I've got the GMT Master Root Beer on order but unlikely to secure one this year. If I buy a watch it will likely be a Genta designed/inspired piece - I have a yearning! Either a Nautilus (some chance!), AP Royal Oak (was offered one just before Christmas but dithered and lost it!), GP Laureato or a ...

Re: Manual or auto? (But not watches)
Manual when I was younger but have driven autos for the thick end of 25 years. I don’t mind the odd drive in a manual just to remind me of the skills I now rarely use, and always manuals for the infrequent track day. But I would never consider buying a new car that wasn’t an automatic. I like restin...

Re: Triumph 2000 Mk1 Smith's Time Clock
Great cars. Back in the late 70s I had a couple of Triumph 2500PIs - brilliant cars when they were running correctly but the Bosch fuel injection system was a wee bit temperamental!
