Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner

Getting my weight down below 170 for the first time in years. Setting PR's (personal records) in Deadlift, Squat & Benchpress & nearly totalling 1,000lbs. Not bad for a 46YO that's only been seriously lifting for about 7 months. Congrats on both Dan. I powerlifted in my younger years. No be...

Re: Mako! now with pics.....

Partly this is because it wasn't clean, so I had to clean it myself to ensure there were no marks. This really makes me think your watch wasn't new. Mine was as expected for a new watch when it arrived. I can't help but think that yours has already been through someone else hands if it required a c...

Re: Does anyone go on TZ-UK?

Definitely some hotheads over there. To be fair though, Chutley, the OP, has not made any friends over there with his ridiculous posts during his first 2 weeks there, in a bid to get SC access. Obviously some TZ-UK members are looking for any opportunity to take a shot at him. Over the line for sure...

Re: Free To Good Home....Now Ended, Thanks

Nice move donating the postage Eddie. The strap is a bit of a chore to fit, but it matches so well with the watch that it's worth the effort.

Happy Birthday Scooter. The orange Vespa must be helping to keep you young, because I wouldn't have thought you to be nearly a pensioner! Here's wishing you many more happy birthdays, Scooter Boy.

Re: "Grail & Beater" or "Nice Collection"?

Steve, I think the answer may lie in the watches you currently own. You chose to focus your collection mainly on vintage watches. If you sell those to buy a new JLC, they will not be easily replaced, and the JLC, as wonderful as it is, likely will not fill the 'vintage hole' left by selling the coll...

Re: I believe I can fly!

Nice catch Aifo. This one seems less busy than the black dial. I think it's because of the contrasting chapter ring on the black that it looks busier.

Re: Nato strap question

They don't work on all watches. They look right at home on divers, and even more so on mil-pil's. I love the look of my Hammy Field and SKX on Nato's, and, as Rick said, the C5A on a leather Nato is just about perfect. I seem to have acquired a few Nato's: http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff481/L...
