Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

You could soak the watch in angels tears for all the good it would do. The salt will be in the movement and it will need to be stripped to flush it out. In fact, it would be far easier and more cost effective to junk the internals altogether and start afresh in the original case. I am talking about...

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

I alerted CW straight away of the damage and they didn't mention soaking the watch in fresh water. It would be unreasonable to expect a laymen to know that this wold be a reasonable take, especially when we were moving on a road trip . They also knew I wolud be in California for another twelve days...

Re: What are you listening to right now ?

"Everyone knows my drinking, no-one knows my thirst", by Eric Keyes. This very poppy, very catchy song was brought to my attention since it has two guitar solos from my favourite jazz musician. When Eric and the gang received the track as returned by Allan, they had to collect their jaws,...

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

Fingers crossed that reason prevails. The problem is I do not want the watch back that has had it's internals soaking in sea water for at least two weeks. I can imagine. But frankly, if it's been soaking in salt water for two weeks, who allowed that to happen? Seriously: this puzzles me. I'd have r...

Aaaaand there is the source of the misunderstanding.

Ask them to solve the problem under warranty, rather than for a replacement.

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

I read this on my phone, and then cranked up my computer to answer... and in the meantime, MarkingTime and welshlad said what I was about to say. If this were true, it would be outrageous. It would, in fact, be so outrageous that I cannot believe any company, even if they have trouble getting their ...

Three watches you're proud to own -- for which you paid less than £600!

Mind you, we're talking 600 quid for the trio , not per watch! And we're also not talking "watches you like" -- it's gotta be about watches you'd show off! The good news is, we're not talking MSRP here. If you bought it secondhand, that's fine... it's just about what you paid. And to make ...

Re: Look what the cat brought in...

Congrats on getting it, looking good on the new leather. Hmmm, a trio of watches you really enjoy for under £500. Could make a good thread that. Hmm. Let me see. I can probably do that. I'll make it easier first, and stick to a trio for £600... and then harder, by making it "3 watches that giv...

Re: 60|60 Watch Guarantee - Service Requirement

Apparently, CW is not alone in advising a short service interval: The absolute majority of other luxury watchmakers tend to stick to a two-year warranty and recommend a 3-year service period – something that we might see many of them change soon in an effort to keep up with Rolex and their out-of-th...
