Re: General Discussion - 2015 FLE
I may be alone in not liking the Seiko Alpinest.....but that C5 Slimline version you just did Steve looks very well. The Blue dial C65 would be my favourite though. I am with you Ferg, IMO the Alpinist is highly overrated and haven't been entirely happy with mine. Thankfully, my gf has taken a liki...

Re: Non CW of the Day
Nice, I've been eyeing the Kon-peki or Asa-Gao to get for Christmas. I watched a lot of videos, and read a lot of stuff on the internet before making this first purchase and I can tell you that the Kon-peki is right among the best blues available. Its my first foray into fountain pens (I'm not into...

Re: Options for watches that look like CWLs I like
I have to say, this is an interesting take on a 'which watch' thread! 'I've seen a CW I like, but can you help me find the original watch that CW copied were inspired by so that I can buy the original that led to the hommage that caught my eye?'. Like it! :) This forum needs a "Like" butt...

Re: Issues with C9 Harrison Big Day Automatic
Two of my new watches arrived exactly 9 days ago - A Seiko Alpinist and Steinhart Ocean GMT (ETA 2836). After the first 9 days, the cumulative total, for Steinhart = -9 secs (-1 sec/day), for Seiko = +150 secs (+16-17 secs/day). This just shows that you may or may not get lucky with non-chronometer ...

Re: Issues with C9 Harrison Big Day Automatic
I agree with you that if you are paying £699 for a highly aclaimed watch it should be adjusted prior to delivery to perform at or around peak performance. With a little care CW will be able to adjust to +/-5 secs a day and to get the maximum enjoyment from your purchase I suggest you return it. Ema...

Re: A morning with the Tudors
The case design of the BB is fantastic, having many similarities to the Rolex Oyster case. It feels solid and beautifully finished. Although the C60 case is good, it does not have the same attention to detail and quality of finishing. I would love it if you could compare the Rolex Oyster (Explorer)...

Re: Issues with C9 Harrison Big Day Automatic
1-2 minutes a week is not the best accuracy but completely normal. Realize that this watch is moving by little gears and a spring with no electronic battery (quartz). The movement is about 28,800 beats per hour - so this will go off slightly with use over longer periods (for 10 secs/day gain, the fr...
