Re: Will there ever be a No Date Diver from CW ?

I think I no-date, 38mm C60 300 would look fantastic!

Maybe when I win the lottery I’ll commission a bespoke no-date 38mm C60 300 with a lumed trident at 12 and lumed 3/6/9.

Re: Forum Access

I was having this problem over the hotel internet connection on July 5. I assumed it was an issue with the hotel Wi-Fi - apparently not!

Re: Until next time UK!

A 2oz US measure is 59.14705912ml so more than a UK double. And you had the cheek to call us alcoholic….   Well, in my defense, I’m thinking a double is about 4oz of alcohol! On a serious note, at home I pour 2oz with roughly 4oz of tonic for a 2:1 ratio. I’m not sure what would be ...

Re: Until next time UK!

I’m not sure why, but a standard single measure of spirits was reduced from 35ml to 25ml. Ahhh, that makes a lot of sense now. I never thought to inquire as to what was a standard pour. I actually have no idea how ml equate to oz. I’m used to a standard G&T being a 2oz pour. Looks like I should...

Re: Until next time UK!

The reason for the G&T question is because the standard dispensed measures are so ridiculously mean. Greeks do proper G&T - generous guesswork. I have to ask my friend Dimitri to go a bit easier on the G! Accents? Newcastle and Glasgow for you next time! What impressed me and that I v...

Re: Until next time UK!

Wishing you both a safe journey back home. Great that you enjoyed everything in spite of a few damp days. Enjoy your last year at school, and your halcyon days of leisure in retirement Illegitimi non carborundum. :D Out of interest, do you have support teaching in the US, so you can fill in now and...

Re: Until next time UK!

Drew - Glad you enjoyed your trip, you will love Scotland! Regarding Food allergies - and speaking as someone who suffers from them - being asked up front can actually be annoying. If I need more information I generally ask... Just to clarify, I’m not complying about restaurants asking about food a...

2. Wash clothes? Sorry not sure what you mean, I tend to shower wearing nothing except a cheeky smile.
Haha! Fixed.

Final thought: I think I might have lost some weight, if you can believe that! A few theories why: Walking, lots of walking No snacking, or all day grazing, as I like to call it Sensible portion sizes at restaurants very little processed food and virtually no soda I won’t mention this last but to my...

Re: Some Observations from an American in Wales

Concerning Waitrose, we’ve got a similar pecking order with grocery stores back home. I find myself mostly shopping at the one in the same category as Waitrose here. Primarily, it’s because of the convenience of the location - I pass right by it on my way home from work. There’s another store that’s...

Until next time UK!

We fly home today after an incredible nine days. What a trip! Wales was stunningly beautiful. I’m sure we will return, but probably not before visiting other areas of the UK first. (We’re looking at you, Scotland!) A big thank you to everyone who offered suggestions and guidance as we were planning ...

No. We really only had one proper day in London. I trip out to Maidenhead wasn’t in the cards.

Re: Some Observations from an American in Wales

The Waitrose comments are killing me! The clientele at the Waitrose we stopped in did not match with how everyone is describing Waitrose at all.

Love Island…WTH?!

It’s our last night in the UK. We just watched a fun show called Antiques Road Trip . From that, my wife then put on an absolute train wreck of a show called Love Island . What the hell am I watching?! First of all, I don’t understand a single word these people are saying! Secondly, what exactly is ...
