Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

A quartz movement like the Bulovo Precionist with a sweep second hand would have satisfied those who don't like the "tick".

Re: Have you ever liked a watch enough to buy it twice?

C60 MkII for me.

I've had;

Black / Black (x3; both 38 and 43mm and SH21)
Black / White (43mm SH21)
Blue / Black (43mm)
Red / Black (38mm)

A couple of these in the SOTC here.

Re: What do you do with a new watch?

I usually know within minutes of taking it out of the box whether or not it's a keeper, at least for the short term. Weirdly though, it's seldom worn straight away. Reason being that unless its a beater, the watch won't be a daily wearer so it gets wound and put in the watch box for the right occass...

Reports are coming in that the global shortage of Rolex watches can be traced directly to Berlin

Re: Back to the Future

Curious if you managed to get any discount? The boutique I visited basically said RRP was the only price, but happily provided more drinks  Same with my local boutique; not willing to move on price or even discuss it but happy to chuck in a case, watch winder and all the beverages. Wrist shot ...

Thegreyman, how are you finding the 80h power reserve? Are you getting the full 80h?

Re: What watch have you worn most during 2023?

The beater doesn't count right?

As a brand it's CW; the C65 Trident SH21 followed by the C11 Extreme. For other brands, it'll be the Ernst Benz Chronoscope.

Re: The bubble has burst…

First signs of the bubble bursting? At the beginning of the year, my local Rolex dealer would put the watches on display with a sign saying "display only, not for sale". You couldn't walk in either, it was by appointment only. As for buying one, forget it unless you're prepared to buy some...

Re: CBMVic20 - December 2023 (round 2)

Thanks for an excellent and details write up. Considering your opening, 'setting the scene' paragraph I'm amazed that you've found time to do this SOTC. It's taken me a few months to finish as I didn't have the time to do it all in one go. That's why the strap of the beater is different in the box ...

Re: CBMVic20 - December 2023 (round 2)

It's less fear of damage and more that it's distinctive so I wouldn't be entirely comfortable wearing something like this around London.
