Bremont- what’s the appeal?
Bit of a trolling title, but I don’t really ‘get’ Bremont as a brand or as a watchmaker. I’ve seen a few in jewelers windows and not really been ‘gripped’ by any of them.
I can’t see what they offer over and above (say) Christopher Ward.
What am I missing?
Thanks all
Simon

Re: Day Date watches
A work colleague a couple of years ago expressed an interest in the watch I was wearing. He went from ‘why do I even need a watch, I’ve got a phone‘ to ‘which automatic is best for my budget’ in about 4 weeks, haha. Anyway he ended up with this rather nice Tissot at a really good price, too, and he’...

Re: Next stop after Trident?
No, it came on the bracelet and I swapped it out for that saddle leather one. Nice and thick.
Think of it as a Poundland Black Bay.

Re: Next stop after Trident?
I sold my s/h C61 for what I paid for it, and bought an Invicta 1953 to replace it. €120 brand new.
Looks alright on leather and keeps remarkably good time. NH35 movement.

Re: Invicta 1953
Cheers chaps.... that’s the last time I’m getting involved in any conversation on here.... just ordered one  627BFC56-A899-4059-A7AE-F5611464EF23.jpeg I hope you like it! If it doesn’t wind your mainspring, wait until they sell out on the Invicta store then sell it on! Best of luck and cheers ...

Re: Invicta 1953
Mate, I think that’ll be a very small sub-section! I dislike intensely the majority of Invicta’s output. Gaudy, quartz oversized monstrosities with a corporate pricing policy more akin to a late-night shopping channel than a serious watch brand. HOWEVER.... This watch is pretty decent. It’s not gaud...

Re: Invicta 1953
My apologies. I didn’t see where you mentioned that you had owned an Invicta 1953; I just saw a blanket comment that ‘all Invictas are ****’. If you can point me to the comments you made about your experience of owning this particular model then I apologize. At the moment all I can see are a load of...

Re: Invicta 1953
Well, the thing is, you haven’t seen this watch. You haven’t handled it. You don’t own it. You haven’t put it in a timegrapher. You haven’t looked at the finishing under a loupe; you haven’t checked the bezel. You haven’t pressure tested it. You haven’t paid for it with your own money; you haven’t c...

As I said, maybe in future stay off the old computer when you’ve had a couple.
Your comments didn’t add anything to the discussion, they neither educated nor entertained, so hopefully lesson learnt, eh?
