Re: What are you drinking right now....?

Robotaz, I thought you had a Lexington signature! I wondered why you had gone to Colorado. It's interesting the things you learn reading on the forum, I had no idea that some of these bourbons were so expensive. Living in Cincinnati, I'm close to Lexington and Louisville both, and have visited both ...

Re: What watch have you worn most during 2020?

I've tried doing this like the manual advises, but my crown seems to have no effect on the small seconds at all. I am familiar with how to do this kind of hacking, because the Valjoux 72 in my Gallet chronograph can be hacked using the same method. I could be doing it wrong, I suppose...Neil, are yo...

Re: What watch have you worn most during 2020?

I have three that have been most worn in 2020. My favorite is the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, without doubt the one I pick up when not going to work. If it was capable of being hacked, it would be perfect. Next is my Casio G-Shock GW-M5610-1, which is my go to watch for work. I work in a warehouse ...

Re: Irish Whiskey Recomendations

Late to this discussion, I'm afraid. Not familiar with Teelings, I look forward to your thoughts on it. For me, Bushmill's Black Bush is my favorite, very smooth, and with a great flavor. Jameson's has Cooper's Croze, which I'm thinking of getting for NYE, and I've liked Tullamore Dew Black Label, a...

Re: England has awesome fashion

Steed's umbrella was a Brigg Whangee - these are available from Swaine Adeney Brigg, a wonderful shop in Jermyn Street, Piccadilly at £560 for the nylon version in numerous colours or the traditional black silk for an additional £345.
That’s the exact brand I’ve had my eye on!
You ...

Re: England has awesome fashion

I got my first tweed jacket from Dunn & Co. every once in a while it is ok to drink cheap beer and wear a cheap watch right) Inexpensive beer, why not?. A cheap watch has it's place, but low quality beer - oh dear. Depending on your location and finances, low quality beer is still beer. Chill i...

Re: Merry Christmas

Sitting here with a wee bit of Bushmill's Black Bush, watching a program touring The Great Lochs of Scotland, and I thought to see what was happening on the Forum. Happy Christmas, Merry Christmas, to all on the Forum, your families, and your friends. I wish all of you a healthier, happier, and bett...

Re: England has awesome fashion

Lovely looking umbrella, Guy. I agree with Andrew, with a bit of care and replacing the loose connection, it should last quite a long time.

Re: Non CW of the Day

Another thought occurred, wonder if it has to do with SOE/Lysander ops during the war? Probably not ICAO codes, though. Those are four letter groups, not five. This could keep me up all night... :)

Re: England has awesome fashion

Now, that was a proper bumber! Where to find something as well made here in the states is the question, though. The onset of mass production required the creation of mass consumption to support it, sooo...the cycle became one of planned obsolescence combined with annual changes to maximize sales des...

Re: England has awesome fashion

https://www.monitorduty.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/john_steed__185410.jpg But what watch should be on a true English gentleman's wrist? I don't remember John Steed ever showing a watch on the Avengers, but I would suspect either a Rolex, Omega, or possibly a Smith's, dating from wartime use, bu...
